Every year, tons of Graphene are applied
to Vittoria tyres making the company
one of the most relevant organizations
dealing with this material. As a result of
this, the Vittoria Group has become a
new member of the Graphene Flagship
project. Founded by the European
Commission, the Graphene Flagship is the
leading association regarding research
and commercialization of graphene in
Europe. The consortium represents a
new form of joint, coordinated research
on an unprecedented scale, forming
Europe’s biggest ever research initiative.
The association involves:
The core mission of the Graphene
Flagship is to bring together academic
and industrial researchers to take
graphene from the realm of academic
laboratories into European society within
10 years, thus generating economic
growth, new jobs and new opportunities.
With the aim of being actively involved
in Graphene applications, Vittoria
is part of Graphene Creations too, a
joint-venture company composed by
international partners (such as Singha, Utc
holding and JAO-Toyota Tsusho), created
for developing and commercializing
graphene technologies.
Graphene Creations develops graphene
solutions for a wide range of applications,
enlarging its implementation for different
and various scopes, including:
• Wasted and contaminated water
treatment
• Specialty fabrics and composites
• Performance coatings
• Filtering masks both for health and
sport usage.
• 170 academic and industrial partners
• 90 associated members
• 22 countries
• €1 billion budget funded by European
Union
