class notes+ alumni updates ’09 Tallia N. Deljou took a service trip over the winter college break to South Africa to work with organizations committed to the social justice issues of youth empowerment and child health and education. Additionally, she just finished her term as both musical director and president of Treble in Paradise, the all-girls a cappella group at American University. She is also president of her sorority, Delta Gamma. i Young Alumni Gathering Young Alumni from the classes of 2007-2011 gathered at The Nest (owned by Zeshan Muhammedi ’07) on December 16, 2011, for the Young Alumni Holiday Celebration. 24 | WOODWARD ACADEMY | Brandon M. Monteith made the Dean’s List at Wake Forest University. Chloe C. Bootstaylor ’10was named Academic All American by the National Golf Coaches Association. To earn Academic All American status, a golfer must achieve a 3.5+ annual grade point average. Chloe is a student at Rhodes College. ’11 Amanda J. Dam is at Oxford College of Emory University and planning to major in environmental science, with a focus on epidemiology so that she can study the spread of diseases based on environmental factors, and minor in sustainability. She is involved with the student admissions association Clockwise from above: Brian Meyer ’11, Chris Myers ’00, Dr. Chris Freer, Vice President and Dean for Student Life, and Will Heaton ’11; Powell Mansfield ’11 and Zoey Morton ’11; and Jennifer Rubel ’10, Max Okunola ’10, and Gregory Rice ’10. at Oxford College and serves as a campus tour guide. She also continues to serve with the Volunteer Oxford program and has worked with children at a tutoring center. Max Gresham finished sixth in the ARCA Racing Series Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200 on February 18, making his first start at Daytona International Speedway a memorable one. Jasmyn Story earned term honors for the semester at Skidmore College. Term honors are awarded for a quality point ratio of 3.6, from a possible 4.0, for students who have completed 14 credit hours. Haley L. Zagoria was named to the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll at Georgia State University for the fall semester. Haley plays golf at GSU.

Ti�any Addington Horton and her husband of five years, Rich, welcomed a son, Gry�en Arlin, on January 24, 2012. He joins big sister, Caoilinn Rose, 4. Jana Childers Khamo married Aneese Khamo on November 11, 2011, at Calamigos Ranch in Malibu, Calif. Among the attend - ees were May Lee Gong ’94 and Trisha Necessary ’93 . Jana is living in Los Angeles and recently became the Director of Brand & Product Development for The Mischa Barton Brand. � Bryan P. Kirby and his wife, Samantha, welcomed a son, Crawford Joseph Kirby, on December 14, 2011. He weighed 6 pounds, 14 ounces and measured 19.5 inches. He joins big brothers, Asa Walker and Elijah John. Kathryn Henry Kuntz and her husband, Charlie, are pleased to announce the birth of their son, Ty Kuntz, on December 3, 2011. � Joy Mayeske Phillips and her husband, Stuart, announce the birth of Addison Joy on July 26, 2011. Ashlyn, age 3, is excited to be a big sister. 1995 Blair I. Rothstein married Lisa Haddad on November 12, 2011, in the Mayan Riviera, Mexico. � Kiran Chitluri lives in Seattle and works for Amazon.com. She married Brenna Kelley-Clarke last summer in Mukilteo, Wash., just outside of Seattle. Brenna works at a local bio - tech company, Immune Design, which is engineering viruses to cure cancer. Jennifer Zyman Pontrelli and her husband, Jay, welcomed a daughter, Zoë Amélie Pontrelli, on December 12, 2011. Jennifer is the editor of Eater Atlanta, a dining blog. 1998 Leigh Shattles Cardwell and Lee Cardwell ’98 are pleased to announce the birth of Camille Patton Cardwell, on September 16, 2011. Camille joins a big sister, Marion Cates “M.C.” Cardwell, who turned 2 on November 17, 2011. 2007 www.woodward.edu/ alumni 2000 Allyson Carroll Campbell and Wes Campbell welcomed their daughter, Riley Elaine, on May 10, 2011. Ishita Patel Kent (pictured with bridesmaid Jayne Leemon ’07 ) celebrated her wedding to J.T. Kent on January 7 at All Saints Catholic Church in Dallas, Texas. Woodward alumni attending the wedding included her sister Pulak Patel ’04 , Mannie Kumar ’07 , Kate Walters ’07 , and Kiran Bhat ’08 . Ishita and J.T. will live in Dallas. | SPRING 2012 | 25
