ASIANA
RECOMMENDS:
THE WORLD’S MOST ETHICAL BAR
Yes! You read that right. Better World
Bars are revolutionalising the drinks
industry one tipple at a time. Their
motto is ‘profit over planet’ and when you
book them to create your wedding bar
not only will guests be drinking ethically
sourced and made drinks, they’ll be
donating to charity at the same time.
Founder Randy Rampersad explains:
“You’ve heard of The Queen Vic, well
originally I set up The Green Vic, a
pop-up pub aiming to be the most ethical
pub in the UK. It was a huge success
but it made me realise how important
our service was, it was more than just a
slogan. I’m passionate about the planet
and want to do whatever I can to help
the Earth and the people that live on
it.” So how does ethical drinking work
and what can you expect when you hire
Better World Bars for your wedding?
Randy explains: “All the drinks we serve
are made ethically and mostly that
means they are being created through
social enterprises and even charities. But
don’t worry we still have a huge amount
of choice, our menu has over 400 drinks
including all the usual wines, beers,
bubbles and soft drinks; they’ve just been
sourced and made differently.”
The charity angle of the business
is also impressive as Randy explains:
“At every event we do, for every sale of
a drink, money is donated directly to
charity. We support a number of different
charities. At the end of your wedding,
we can tell you exactly how that money
will help, it could for example, be an
environmental charity and we can tell
you how many trees can be grown, or if
it’s a homeless charity we can say how
many people we can help.”
There are two types of bars available
for hire, a classic wooden bar made from
eco-sourced materials, or their new TV
screen bar which is a wall of televisions
where your own visuals can be projected
such as old photos and videos. Randy
adds: “Weddings are fun occasions but
they’re also a great opportunity for
a large number of people to make a
difference in the world. I hope the ethical
approach to our business will change the
way people plan their events and we’re
looking forward to bringing our delicious
drinks and party spirit while raising
money for good causes all over the UK.”
TREND ALERT:
360-Photobooths
Photobooths have long been a wedding
staple. They’re a great way to capture
your guests in action enjoying the day. But
with video fast taking over the popularity
of images at events and in social media,
360-degree photo/video experiences
create a whole new way to remember the
day. Gary Gill CEO of 360 Boothology
explains: “We’ve all enjoyed going inside
photobooths but how often do you look at
the printout that you take home, that’s if you
don’t lose it on the way. At 360 Boothology,
we create 360-degree videos that can be
easily uploaded to your social media, as an
Instagram reel or straight to your TikTok.
They bring your memories to life and are
something guests can share and enjoy, while
the couple receive a copy of everyone’s fun
poses.”
Like classic photobooths, the team will
bring everything that’s required including a
host of props to match your theme. Bookings
for weddings typically last for four hours
giving every guest a chance to have a go
and all you need is some space for them to
do a full 360 turn which gets recorded and
saved. Videos can last up to 30 seconds and
they’re a great way to bring groups together
which always creates the most fun content.
Gary adds: “360 videos are a creative way to
engage guests. It’s a new concept that many
of them wouldn’t have tried before making it
a fun surprise. Backdrops can be personalised
too so we can brand all videos to your
wedding colour theme and branding.”
