EM Wave and Particle Characteristics

Particle characteristics – when interacting with matter,

high energy EM radiation act as energy quanta: photons

E [Joule] = hn = hc/l, where h = Planck’s constant

(6.62x10 -34 Joule-sec = 4.13x10 -18 keV-sec)

If E expressed in keV and l in nm: E [keV] = 1.24/l [nm]
