All About
Pre-Workout
For many people, finding the time and
energy to work out can be difficult. Preworkout
supplements have gained a lot of
popularity because they are reported to
enhance energy and maximize workout
efforts; this helps people have the capacity
to begin their workouts and reach their
goals each workout session.¹ Some
examples of pre-workout supplements that
are commonly used include snack bars, premixed
drinks, powdered supplements, and
pills. Unfortunately, as with most things,
there are some concerns that come along
with the benefits of pre-workout
supplements.
Potential Benefits
As mentioned above, the main benefits of
using pre-workout are stated to be
increased energy and performance, as well
as enhanced focus and endurance.¹
Additionally, it is reported that some preworkout
supplements help enhance
recovery after working out by reducing
muscle damage and possibly aiding in injury
recovery. While there can be many
ingredients in pre-workout supplements,
the most notable ingredients that are
responsible for these praised effects are
caffeine, creatine, and beta-alanine.
