TOURMALINE
The tourmaline’s range of colors is unique and includes just about every imaginable
nuance. A single stone can contain several different tones, generating the most unexpected
effects. Earlier, every different color version of tourmaline had its own special
name. But today, for the sake of simplicity, we use only the term tourmaline combined
with the appropriate color.
TREASURE-TROVES OF THE TOURMALINE
The biggest reserves are found in Brazil. Red, green or blue tourmalines come from
Namibia, Afghanistan or Sri Lanka. The tourmalines mined in Zambia and Zimbabwe
are predominantly green while those found in Madagascar and Mozambique tend to
be multicolored.
