Speciality Glass SPECIALITY GLASS THE RIGHT DECISION FOR CUSTOM FRAMING WHY? nielsen picture glass is designed to meet the different needs of framing artwork, drawings, prints (engraving) and paintings, as well as photographs and art prints. Highly transparent white glass* is used as basic material for all coated nielsen picture glasses. Due to its high transmission (light transmission), enough light reaches the framed object to make it crystal clear and with true colours. You will find all these products in our product range - developed with passion and know-how for you and your customers. With all nielsen components, we support your artful work of creating high quality and individual framing. Using an innovative production method, the nielsen picture glasses are coated very thinly from both sides to meet the different requirements - a process is called “Interference optical antireflection“, this method is applied similarly to eyeglass lenses. Standard or float glass has a reflectance of approx. 8%. With the coating, the degree of reflection of nielsen picture glasses is minimized to less than 1%. You will notice that the reflection colour with nielsen picture glasses appears evenly and without distortions. This testifies to a highquality coating and distinguishes the nielsen picture glasses in particular. Another advantage is the last applied protective layer, which makes the nielsen picture glass more scratch-resistant. In addition, the surface of the protective layer is very smooth, which makes it very easy to clean. For easy handling, the glasses are already tailored to the full useful dimensions. The processing edges resulting in the coating process are eliminated. So you can easily and efficiently use the Nielsen picture glass from both sides* in the frame and cut to the desired size. In the version of 2 mm thickness, there is still enough room in the picture frame for a high-quality mountboard and a stable backing cover. All of this for the protection and conservation of the art object according to the high requirements of museums and galleries.
