The University of North Texas College of Music is proud to bring you our 2023 Texas Music Educators Association program featuring the North Texas Wind Symphony conducted by Eugene Migliaro Corporon. The performance also includes special guest performances by Dame Evelyn Glennie, the Barcelona Clarinet Players, compositions by Michael Daugherty and Jack Stamp. Other UNT performing groups include the UNT HarpBeats and the UNT U-Tubes. Program design by Matt Hellman

UNT HARPBEATS
As the largest collegiate harp program in the United
States, the UNT HarpBeats ensemble gained recognition
as one of the most innovative student harp ensembles.
Led by Jaymee Haefner, the ensemble is made up of harp
students who arrange most of the ensemble’s music. The
HarpBeats repertoire ranges from J.S Bach to Led Zeppelin
and everything in-between, including several original
compositions written by members.
The HarpBeats have worked with visiting composers Paul
Patterson and Alfredo Rolando Ortiz and performance
highlights include the 2018 Lyon & Healy Summer Concert
Series in Chicago and the 2017 World Harp Congress in

Hong Kong. In 2014 the HarpBeats were featured at the
AHS National Conference in New Orleans as winners of the
Student Harp Ensemble Competition.
The ensemble has been featured on CBS-11 and Fox 4 News
in Dallas. The group has several recorded singles (Take 5,
Maple Leaf Rag, Premonition, The Woods, Ravel Introduction
and Allegro Jazz Fantaisie, Bron-Yr-Aur and Bron-Yr-Aur
Stomp), which are available for purchase at the online UNT
Music Store (www.music.unt.edu/store) and support the
