BIPOC Pride 2023 Booklet

Say it Loud! BIPOC Pride is a truly unique event for our region. 2023 marks the 17th anniversary of celebrating the strength, resilience, and contributions of LGBTQIA+ Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) communities in the Capital Region of Upstate New York. Not only does this event provide a safe and enjoyable space for LGBTQIA+ BIPOC and our allies, it also serves to link our communities with vital resources and health screenings. These efforts address the increased risks and vulnerabilities such as poverty, lack of health insurance, unemployment, and poorer mental and physical health that LGBTQIA+ BIPOC disproportionately face in comparison to their white and non-LGBTQIA+ counterparts. Pride has come to symbolize a moment of respite for our community members. Events like Say It Loud! BIPOC Pride are crucial to correcting health disparities and helping our community create safer spaces to combat isolation and have access to resources and services they would otherwise not receive. Your contribution allows us to create an empowering event where our communities can reimagine what is possible, work in solidarity, and “Say it Loud!”.... As In Our Own Voices, Inc. enters into our 25th year of serving and strengthening LGBTQIA+ BIPOC communities, we look forward to having you on our side.
