Local campaigning news<br />

Last year <strong>Wolverhampton</strong> CAMRA set itself<br />

three stretching but achievable key campaign<br />

objectives, as we near our AGM in November,<br />

it’s a good time to review the progress we’ve<br />

made so far.<br />

Objective 1: Hold a successful Beer Festival<br />

in 2011:<br />

Achieved! We managed to lure punters away<br />

from the X Factor fi nal with a fi ne selection of<br />

ales, resulting in a near sold-out festival. For a<br />

full review please turn to page 20.<br />

Objective 2: Create an online pub database<br />

<strong>for</strong> the <strong>Wolverhampton</strong> branch area:<br />

Currently we have the names, full addresses<br />

and phone numbers of all the pubs in the<br />

branch area, but little else. We are making<br />

slow but steady progress to gather more<br />

in<strong>for</strong>mation on these pubs but the process<br />

is very much in its infancy If you have any<br />

Objective 3: Appoint an Apple Offi cer<br />

to promote real Cider and Perry in our<br />

branch area:<br />

Martin Wither<strong>for</strong>d, our branch chairman has<br />

taken on the additional role of Apple Offi cer<br />

<strong>for</strong> <strong>Wolverhampton</strong> CAMRA. Following a<br />

successful cider & cheese fayre at Coven<br />

village hall. The next phase is to liaise with<br />

publicans and with a view to promote real<br />

cider as a profi table addition to their range.<br />

We’ll soon start looking to set our three<br />

campaign objectives <strong>for</strong> 2012. If you are<br />

a <strong>Wolverhampton</strong> CAMRA member why<br />

not pass on your suggestions <strong>for</strong> campaign<br />

objective to one of our branch contacts.<br />

Remember they must be stretching<br />

but achievable.<br />
