Management Theme contribute to principles<br />
and processes that can be structured, packaged,<br />
scaled, and presented for African farmers to<br />
precisely manage plant nutrition according to<br />
the specific conditions on their farm to optimize<br />
crop yields and economic returns.<br />
Improved nutrient management strategies are<br />
developed according to the principles of 4R<br />
Nutrient Stewardship, which guide applications<br />
of the right nutrient source at the right rate, right<br />
time, and in the right place, and is important for<br />
developing sustainable cropping systems that<br />
support improved food production, increased<br />
income for farmers, and enhancement and<br />
maintenance of soil fertility.<br />
The PNM thematic framework is<br />
foundationally established on the platforms of<br />
on-farm experimentation, researcher-led and<br />
benchmarking trial networks, and the use of<br />
geospatial, remote sensing, and climate data.<br />
