Mr. Atthaphon Sangkhawasee, Ph. D.
The Permanent Secretary of the
Ministry of Education of Thailand
OFFICIAL SPEECH FROM
Mr Kelvin Koh
Chairman of SISB School Governing Board
ON THE OCCASION OF THE OFFICIAL OPENING OF
MEDHIVISISTA BUILDING – 20 JULY 2023
Your Royal Highness, I, Kelvin Koh, Chairman of the
SISB School Governing Board, together with our
distinguished guests, staff, parents and students,
would like to express our appreciation to Your Royal
Highness for honouring us with your presence.
SISB has had the privilege of welcoming Your Royal
Highness on two occasions. In June 2012 for the
Grand Opening of SISB Pracha Uthit; and in July 2018
for the Opening Ceremony of Silpapirom Creative Arts
and Media Centre, a name that was bestowed by Your
Royal Highness.
Today, we are delighted to have Your Royal Highness
here with us again for the Opening Ceremony of
Medhivisista Building, a state-of-the-art academic
compound at SISB Thonburi. We are honoured to
have the name of Medhivisista bestowed by Her
Royal Highness, which means “Scholars with a spirit of
excellence”.
SISB Thonburi started in 2017, the fourth SISB
school in Thailand. The opening of SISB schools in
different locations is in line with our vision to be the
leading education provider, making quality education
accessible to all.
To cater to the support from our community, a modern
academic building was added in August 2021. This
new phase has modern facilities such as an auditorium,
gymnasium, classrooms and science laboratories.
There is a great emphasis on nature, and allowing
students to connect with their natural environment.
This combination of nature and nurture allows SISB to
maximise the potential of every student.
Our community has donated to Your Royal Highness’s
“Fund for the Development of Children and Youth in
Remote Area” project, in gratitude for the support of
Your Royal Highness. We look forward to providing
holistic education to more students in the future, and
develop them to become scholars, leaders and global
citizens.
On today’s auspicious occasion, we would like to
express our heartfelt appreciation to Your Royal
Highness for honouring us with your visit, and for
presiding over this ceremony.

progressively. Fortunately, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn has expressed her concern in
saving and reviving valued Thai traditions. With an intensive effort to preserve Thai art and cultural heritage, Her
We Give, We Share Project 2023
On 17th February 2023, a team of SISB
teachers, leadership and Sixth Form students,
made the journey to Tak Province to deliver
some donations to Ban San Mae Border
School.
Our Sixth Form students engaged with
the students of Ban Samae Yai, leading
discussions, songs, dances, activities and
more. They showed incredible leadership traits
while engaging in acts of service to the local
community.
With the help of our amazing students, parents
and teachers - we were able to raise enough
money to deliver the request for a science lab,
sports field, sports gear and most importantly
clean, running water.
A very special “THANK YOU” goes out to our
Head of School who personally replaced the
dormitory beds with new fresh mattresses. We
are so grateful for everyone who contributed
and for the incredible impact we made. Thank
you for your support!

Nursery 1 Picnic Day
Fun in the sun with our little ones!
Our Nursery 1 students had a blast on their picnic day,
enjoying snacks, games, and quality time with their
friends and teachers. Here’s to more happy memories
and adventures together!
As N1 is learning all about Healthy Living, part of that
is being outdoors when the Air Quality is good and
snacking on some healthy food. So why not have a
picnic!?!
We sang songs and we were communicators and
thinkers as we recalled the healthy food and the
unhealthy food that the Very Hungry Caterpillar ate.
Parent-Teacher Partnership
The significance of the parent-teacher partnership
in education cannot be overstated. It forms the
foundation for a child’s success by fostering open
lines of communication, collaboration, and shared
responsibility. When parents and teachers work
together, they can identify and address a student’s
academic and developmental needs more effectively.
This collaboration ensures consistent expectations,
early intervention, and the provision of holistic support,
leading to improved academic performance, personal
growth, and overall well-being. The parent-teacher
partnership is a powerful force that nurtures students’
potential, builds a strong educational community, and
ultimately sets them up for a lifetime of success.
Recognizing the importance of this connection, SISB
Thonburi actively promotes constant parents and
teachers meetings and sports activities to further
strengthen the bond between parents, teachers, and
students.
