pupus served buffet style, usually including: Fresh
meat sauce, shrimp, dim sum and scallop dim sum,
chicken teriyaki skewers, panko breaded fried
Enjoy the company of your dinner table old
friends and guests. Swap collecting stories, some
of which will be reputed to be absolutely true.
This meal has been enjoyed by our members at this
event for many years.
After Dinner
One of the purposes of this meeting is to install
the HMS officers and directors for 2007. Awards
for outstanding work in the past years are also
made. You probably know you are eligible. If not,
do more in the next years. HMS operates entirely
with volunteers. Its publications succeed only if
you contribute.
Are there still people you haven’t met?
Introduce yourself. All attendees have had
HMS Christmas Dinner Meeting continued
interesting lives with varied experiences. Find out
what you have in common: probably much more
than shells.
Gift exchange:
When Dave calls your ticket number, it is
your turn to pick up a gift at the Christmas tree.
Remember good things come in small packages.
But then, so do some big things. However, you
don’t always get to keep your gift anyway. There
are a lot of ways to encourage you to trade your
gift for another.
Silent Shell Auction:
As a finale, the not-always-so-silent auction
is closed and you can pick up those shells you have
always wanted and pay for them.
.
Departure:
Another opportunity to observe the hotel’s
splendid decorations. Time to remember just
where you parked your car. Validated parking in
hotel parking garage, $2 fee if you remembered to
get your parking ticket validated by Jody or Dave.
Have a safe drive home observing the decorations
by the city, hotels, stores and private homes. Some
home decorations probably exceed your own.
Make a promise to yourself to be more prepared
for next year.
