CHRIS HODGES - SAMUELFollowing previous appearances in “Audience” and “Band”this will be Chris’s second appearance in a Stewartby G & Sproduction following his role as Wayne in last year’s“Ruddigore” and he has also performed in Stewartbyconcerts in 2019. Chris has also appeared in The Sorcererwith Abbots Langley G & S and “Don Giovanni” with Felici.PETER DAVIS - THE PIRATE KINGPeter has performed many roles with Stewartby over theyears. Apart from Stewartby and G & S he has performed asBen Rumson (Paint Your Wagon), Jerry Reynolds (Friend orFoe), Bartolo (Marriage of Figaro) and the Commendatore(Don Giovanni). He recently played Lord Mountararat inIolanthe with Putteridge Bury G & S.CHARLES MILLS - FREDERICCharles balances his day job as finance director of GraeaeTheatre Company with evenings spent on the amateurstage and in chamber choirs. Over his many years ofassociation with Stewartby he has played most of theleading tenor parts in the G & S operettas and is pleased tobe playing opposite Carol Urwin once again.LINDA BOWEN - RUTHLinda is delighted to be playing the role of Ruth again withStewartby. She has performed many of the leading ladyroles in the G & S canon from a terrifying Katisha (TheMikado) to a luscious Lady Jane (Patience) and the leadingrole of Iolanthe. Last year she played Mad Margaret in theStewartby production of “Ruddigore”.MARGARET MAGEE - EDITHMargaret has played most of the leading roles in G & Sproductions for St Neots Operatic Society and societies inLondon. Trained at the Royal College of Music she was awonderful Magnolia in “Show Boat” and has taken leads inStewartby concerts for many years.
JENNY JACKSON - KATEJenny has exhibited an extraordinary range from topsoprano to alto in her various roles. In St Neots OperaticSociety she has played Mabel (The Pirates of Penzance) andValencienne (The Merry Widow) amongst others. ForStewartby she has performed in minor and leading rolesand brought her knowledge of music hall to our concerts.SANDRA BUCK - ISABELSandra joined Stewartby back in 2005 and has sinceperformed in many G & S productions in the chorus. Shehas also performed with ShowCo, Bedford. At Stewartbyshe played Fleta in “Iolanthe” and Ruth in “Ruddigore” andis delighted to be playing Isabel and helping the poor oldMajor-General to get through his song.CAROL URWIN - MABELCarol has played all the soprano leads for StewartbyOperatic Society, most of them twice, and has taken part inmany concerts. Carol runs in half-marathons to keep fit andtook part in the London Marathon in 2019, raising moneyfor Bedford Hospital. She will be repeating this endeavor in2020 and will happily accept offers of sponsorship.COLIN JONES - MAJOR-GENERAL STANLEYHaving seemingly specialised in titled or ranked rolesincluding the Duke of Plaza Toro (Gondoliers), Private Willis(Patience) and Sir Joseph Porter (HMS Pinafore) Colin playedplain Bruce in “Ruddigore” but is delighted to regain hisstatus in 2019. Like the best actors he can also brag that hehas appeared - very, very briefly - in EastEnders.STEVE BARTLETT - SERGEANT OF POLICESteve joined the society in 2011, coming from a mainlyMusic Hall background, now performing baritone roles inthe chorus line of a number of previous G & S productionsand all of the spring concerts. He is delighted to beundertaking the role of the Sergeant of Police so let`scapture those Pirates. Ha, ha, ha, ha! Ho, ho, ho, ho!
