The Colnefans earned many accoladesthroughout the season for theirfine and vocal support of theteam.The 2017-18 season see’s SteveCunningham lead his team foranother tilt at the title. A newChairman Ryan Haigh wasappointed in June 2017 andwith the backing of UtilityRenewals. The reds again werecompetitive missing out on thefinal play off place on goaldifference.2018/19 saw a new era for theclub with the formation of theNPL West Division. Again Colnesuffered play-off heartachelosing to a last minute extratimegoal in the Semi-Final.2019/20 saw the season nulland voided due to the Covidepidemic with Colne in a midtableposition. However it wasa season to remember for allinvolved with the club as thereds reached the 4th and finalqualifying round of the FACup. The reds were sadly wellbeaten at Gateshead. At theend of the season long timemanager Steve Cunninghamstepped down and wasreplaced by Nathan Rooney.2020/21 With a new managerand back room staff in placeColne were looking forward tobeing a challenger in a verystrong league. Colne endedthe curtailed season sitting infirst place after nine games.2021/2022 This season wasour 25th anniversary as ColneFootball Club and had thechallenge of a new league toplay in with several newsignings and Lee Pugh takingover as captain from long timeservant Alex Coleman. After 13games and with the squadblighted by injuries to keyplayers, the record was -Played 13, won 5 drawn 3, lost5. In the FA Cup we played ourold friends Trafford away andtook them back to HarrisonDrive to win the replay 2-1.Next up were StalybridgeCeltic away who we beat 1-0before losing at home toGuiseley AFC 1-0. In the FATrophy we drew City ofLiverpool FC away winning 1-0.The next round took us toBuxton beating them 2-1 toprogress to the First Roundproper. The draw then pairedus with a Step 3 team from theSouthern League CentralDivision, Tamworth FC. In ahard fought game whichended 1-1 Colne bowed out 4-3 on penalties. The First Roundis our best progress so far inthe completion.Nathan Rooney resigned inDecember stating personalreasons He was replaced byJonathon Macken who broughtin Steve Atkinson as hisassistant for our New Year’sDay game against KendalTown - a scrappy 1-0 defeat.08
January 2022 was a month ofcomings and goings with sixplayers in and an equalnumber being moved on andsaw just 1 point from the last 6games. February was no betterwith another four defeats butsigns of improvement. Marchsaw three wins and a drawwith no goals conceded whicheffectively ensured safety forthe season at this level. Theclub finished the campaign in14th place with a record of:Played 38, won 12, drawn 8,lost 18, 44 points.The 22/23 season, was one toforget for the reds, despite theoptimism from a promising preseason,the club ended up inturmoil at the end of August asRyan Haigh stepped down aschairman and principlesponsor. The club approachedtwo local businessmen, GlennStock and Darren Harrison, andwithin a matter of days theywere announced as the clubsnew Co-Chair.Trouble off the pitch led totrouble on the pitch and as thenew year started results werepulling Colne closer and closerto the drop.
