Lee, thanks for chatting with us. How do you
assess the season so far?
I think, overall, it has been a good start. Obviously,
it was difficult to take on Saturday, losing late on
and me being sent off. Apart from that, it has been
a good start and, hopefully, we can take that into
Friday.
You have settled into the team seamlessly, how
much have you been enjoying the opportunity to
make the left-back position your own?
I have loved it so far. In Germany
last year it was quite difficult for me
not playing. So, to come here and be
playing, settling in with the lads, it
has been very enjoyable so far.
Watching on, it appears
to be a team that has a
really nice balance to
it. What is that like to
play in, with everyone
knowing their roles
and responsibilities
in supporting one
another?
It is really good
actually. With a lot of
new lads, we have
gelled and come together really quickly considering
we haven’t been together that long. Everyone knows
their duties on the pitch, and we want to keep
picking up results.
And you appear to be feeling at home in
Birmingham, has it been a smooth transition?
It has, I have been welcomed by the lads and I
have been here a few months now. It has been really
smooth.
You were also joined by another familiar face on
deadline day, with Oliver Burke joining the club.
It must be nice to link up with him again after
your time shared together at Werder Bremen?
I was quite close with him out in Germany. I did
some stuff away from football with him. He is
something different to what we have already
got. He has got great pace and is a threat
in behind.
This reunion is the result of you
returning to English football this
summer, what is it like being back
in the Sky Bet Championship?
It is really enjoyable actually. It
can be tough at times, with
two-three games a week.
But when you are playing
