XI INTERNATIONAL SALON OF CARICATURE
AND SATIRICAL VISUAL ARTS
As has been the case in recent
th
years, the 11 International Salon of
Press Caricature and Satirical
Visual Arts will once again become
the foremost exponent of the
phenomenon that occurs in this
type of meeting worldwide.
There are ample reasons for
such a statement, as this edition
boasts the largest components for
such consideration: the participation
of 84 countries from all 6
continents with the exhibition of
over 900 Satirical Artworks, where
their contributions are supported by
the most qualified Artists in this
genre from the international scene.
The coincidence that this year
the city of Timisoara is the
European Capital of Culture means
that this event must surpass itself.
Therefore, the Organizers are
making every necessary effort to
ensure that they can offer the public
a spectacle that is of utmost
importance not only for this city but
for the entire Romania.
It is a program of international
scope in terms of Art and Culture,
which comes to this edition with
significant and diverse proposals,
including the presence and
exhibition of the best nominated and
awarded Artists from recent years.
In this edition, Children will once
again be the main protagonists in
activities face to face with Artists.
Thus, the conditions are
created for them to continue to be
the future pillars of these artistic
activities. For this, we can count on
the participation of international
groups and foundations who have
signed collaboration agreements
with the Popa'S Foundation.
It is also worth mentioning the
solidarity and important participation
this year of Distinguished
Personalities from Politics, Private
Sector, Culture, Sports, and other
guilds who do nothing but support
this grand project through their
presence.
This year's Salon focuses on
the valorization of Caricature as a
phenomenon of expressing the
social reality we live in.
