<strong>Mudgee</strong> <strong>Airport</strong> community<br />

<strong>Mudgee</strong> <strong>Airport</strong> has approximately 6000 movements annually with over 3000 landings.<br />

The facilities include:<br />

• Main Runway 04/22 (code 3 ) is bitumen sealed, 1739 meters length, with 30 metre width<br />

• Cross runway strip 16/34 (code 2) is a grass strip 1075 meters length with 30 metre width<br />

• 6 Taxiways service both strips<br />

• Pilot activated runway and Papi lights<br />

• Modern terminal building with meeting facilities<br />

• Newly built aeromedical ambulance bay<br />

• Avgas & Jet A1 fuel facilities<br />

Aeromedical is critical to the region with 2.6 aeromedical flights per weeks. The airport<br />

is serviced by Fly Pelican on a regular basis, and is home to <strong>Commercial</strong> Helicopters,<br />

MKR Choppers, Airborne Avionics, RM Aviation, Hangar House B&B and the Aeroclub of<br />

<strong>Mudgee</strong>.<br />

<strong>Airport</strong> management<br />

<strong>Mudgee</strong> <strong>Airport</strong> has a permanent <strong>Airport</strong> Reporting Manager (ARO) based at the<br />

terminal building. The ARO is responsible <strong>for</strong> the care and maintenance of the 95-hectare<br />

facility. Aerodrome inspections are complete on a daily and at need basis. We have a<br />

team of relief ARO’s responsible <strong>for</strong> weekend inspections and an On-Call ARO is available<br />

24/7. An <strong>Airport</strong> Manager oversees the operations, development opportunities and<br />

facility improvements.<br />

<strong>Commercial</strong> land <strong>for</strong> lease<br />

Mid-Western Regional Council (Council) is currently seeking expressions of interest <strong>for</strong><br />

the lease of commercial land at <strong>Mudgee</strong> <strong>Airport</strong>, George Campbell Drive, <strong>Mudgee</strong>.<br />

13 fully serviced lots are available <strong>for</strong> long term lease and development, created<br />

specifically to cater to the commercial and general aviation industry. Types of<br />

development that would be appropriate include aircraft storage, aircraft engineering<br />

services, avionic, flying schools, aircraft detailing.<br />

The lots are located only five kilometres from the <strong>Mudgee</strong> CBD and have landside access<br />

and direct 24/7 airside access to the taxiways and runway network. Avgas and JetA1 fuel<br />

and toilet amenities are available 24/7.<br />

All applications and development proposals will be subject to Council approval,<br />

however development that is incidental or ancillary to development <strong>for</strong> commercial<br />

and the general aviation industry would be considered appropriate development and<br />

suit objectives of the zone. Development proposals could include, <strong>for</strong> example – flying<br />

schools, aircraft maintenance, aircraft cleaning and refurbishment, freight services or<br />

hangarage rental, to name a few.<br />
