There are a number ofClass Rule changes proposed for themeeting concerning a builder register,sails, onboard electronics and wearabletechnology. The AutumnTrophy in Bandol is conveniently beingheld the week before the Europeans.LOST MASTA new Ceilidh Mast went missing fromthe Worlds in Lyme Regis and Pleasecan you keep your eyes open to try andfind it. It is owned by the Clive RobertsTrust for Junior OK Sailor Developmentin Australia, but it is still somewhere inthe UK or Europe. Hopefully someonehas taken it by mistake and doesn’trealise. The mast is Ceilidh # 17288 andthe OKDIA Mast Label is 539. Pleasecontact Mark Jackson (president@okdia.org) if you have any informationon its whereabouts. This is the pictureof it at Lyme Regis. It is in a new greenCeilidh/ Carbon Masts Cover.OKDIA HALL OF FAME 2023During the worlds in Lyme Regis, former class stalwarts Brenda and Donald Andrewswere inducted into the OKDIA Hall of Fame. Brenda and Don were the face of OKDIAduring the 1990s. Following around 10 years as secretaryof the British Class Association, Brenda Andrews tookover as Secretary of OKDIA from 1990 to 2002. Shetook over at a difficult time for the class, with variousorganisational and financial problems, but brought thesituation under control and is widely regarded as havingsaved OKDIA from bankruptcy and further problems.Brenda passed away in 2021.Don Andrews was Chairman of the British ClassAssociation for a number of years before becomingChairman of the OKDIA Technical Committee from 1988to 2001, the longest serving Chairman up to that time.He was rigorous in keeping the Class Rules up to dateand diplomatically handling the many ideas from nationalassociations for change.Full story and Hall of Fame Roll of Honour on: okdia.orgJANUARY 2024 • WWW.OKDIA.ORG 5
