THANK YOU
Firstly, I would to say a massive thank you to you for coming out to
support me at today’s testimonial game. I am particularly grateful to
the RFL for granting me a testimonial for services to the game and
for the Leeds Board of Directors for allowing me to put on this match.
I would like to thank Hull KR, especially Head Coach Willie Peters, for
agreeing to come to AMT Headingley for this clash as we build up to
a massive season for both clubs. I am fortunate and grateful to both
coaching teams for fielding such strong squads, I am sure the fans will
get to enjoy a great contest.
Looking back over my career, it seems fitting that I start at the
beginning with Wath Brow Hornets. They were the club that made
me the player that I am and supported me from 6 years old to this
present day! I will always be a Hornet!
I would like to thank Bradford Bulls, Hull Kingston Rovers and
Leeds Rhinos for their integral part in my journey as a rugby
league player! I have experienced some things that I only
dreamed of as a kid playing in two Challenge Cup finals and
one Grand Final. I have also experienced some of the toughest
times a professional sportsman can go through, the injuries,
relegations and administrations but I wouldn’t change a thing
that I have been through and the lessons that they have taught
me. I will be forever grateful to these clubs.
Next, I would like to thank my teammates and staff for their
support on and off the field. My family and I have made friends
for life.
The sponsors who have supported my testimonial and myself
throughout my career have been wonderful. I’ve made many great
connections and people that will stay friends for life.
I would personally like to thank Gary Hetherington for
supporting me throughout this testimonial. I don’t think Gary
gets the credit he truly deserves for what he has done for this
club and its players. Myself and my family can’t thank you
enough for this Gary.
I would like to thank the staff at Leeds Rhinos for supporting
me throughout this testimonial. Special mentions to Gary
Hetherington, Rob Oates, JJB, Rohan, Sian Jones, Emma
Beech, Millie Oates, Phil Daly and the rest of the staff at
AMT Headingley.
I will always be grateful to my friends and family for their
continuous support throughout my career. I hope I’ve made
you proud and put a smile on your face in some tough
times as a family. Especially my mum who has travelled
far and wide to support me.
Finally, to Georgia, Tobias and Miller. I wouldn’t be
where I am today without your unwavering love and
support. I hope I have set a great example for our two
boys. I love you lots.
