In Our Own Voices, Inc. is celebrating another year of uplifting and empowering LGBTQIA+ Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) communities in New York’s Capital Region and beyond. We are proud to be one of the oldest LGBTQIA+ organizations serving BIPOC communities in the nation. We have grown from small, grassroots beginnings into serving over 600,000 individuals both locally and nationally. Through our programs and services, we encourage community members to strengthen their voices, become bolder leaders, and live authentically. <strong>2024</strong> AWARDS<br />

The awards ceremony is a very special component of <strong>Jazz</strong> in <strong>July</strong>. It is the<br />

organization’s way of recognizing individuals and organizations dedicated to<br />

creating a safer and more inclusive environment for LGBTQIA+ BIPOC communities.<br />

Up and Coming Award<br />

The Up and Coming Award is given to an <strong>In</strong>dividual or Organization who is<br />

new to working with and supporting LGBTQIA+ BIPOC communities, and shows<br />

promise and great impact in years to come.<br />

friend of the family award<br />

The Friend of the Family award is given to an <strong>In</strong>dividual or Organization that has<br />

visible evidence of working with and supporting LGBTQIA+ BIPOC communities,<br />

as fellow LGBTQIA+ BIPOC or as allies to the community.<br />

Ken Screven Trailblazer Award<br />

The Ken Screven Trailblazer Award is given to an outstanding <strong>In</strong>dividual or<br />

Organization who has made a great contribution to the LGBTQIA+ BIPOC<br />

community and helped “blaze a trail” for the next generation.<br />

The JASÁN M. WARD LGBTQIA+ Community Advocacy Award<br />

The Jasán M. Ward Community Advocacy Award is given to an <strong>In</strong>dividual or<br />

Organization that is committed to creating change in LGBTQIA+ BIPOC communities.<br />
