From the Town Clerk…….<br />

Local Election Calendar<br />

As you may know, the date<br />

for our Local Town Election has<br />

changed as prescribed by a bylaw<br />

change approved by Town Meeting.<br />

Beginning in <strong>2024</strong>, our local<br />

election will take place on the<br />

first Tuesday in June. This year,<br />

it falls on June 4th.<br />

On March 18, <strong>2024</strong>, the <strong>Bellingham</strong><br />

Select Board voted to<br />

opt out of Voting by Mail (VBM)<br />

and In-Person Early Voting for<br />

the Local Town Election. Absentee<br />

voting is available. Absentee<br />

ballot applications are available<br />

online at mass.gov, as well as by<br />

mail or in person at the Town<br />

Clerk’s office. In-office voting will<br />

be available once the ballots are<br />

received.<br />

NOTE: If you applied for a<br />

ballot by way of the State’s “I<br />

WANT TO VOTE” card and<br />

checked<br />

“All Ballots this Year”, you will<br />

not automatically receive a local<br />

election ballot. You must fill out<br />

an absentee application in order<br />

to receive a local ballot at home.<br />

You will, however, automatically<br />

receive State Primary and General<br />

Election ballots in September<br />

and November.<br />

<strong>April</strong> 24, <strong>2024</strong><br />

July 1, <strong>2024</strong> 4:30 PM Final OCPF Report Due Covering<br />

May 16 Through June 30, <strong>2024</strong>.<br />

DOG LICENSES<br />

A reminder: Dog Licenses are due for renewal om <strong>April</strong> 1, <strong>2024</strong>.<br />

Please be aware that, per Massachusetts General Law and <strong>Bellingham</strong><br />

Town Bylaw, late fees of $25 (per household) may be assessed on May<br />

1st. If payment still hasn’t been received by June 1st, an additional<br />

fine of $50 (per household) may be levied. Beginning in August, any<br />

unpaid dog license will be referred to Milford District Court for adjudication.<br />

So…..please apply for your dog license as soon as possible<br />

to avoid any late fees or fines!<br />
