Neuro functi<strong>on</strong>al informatics and rehabilitati<strong>on</strong> engineering<br />

This seminar will discuss the inner link between the Neuro-Functi<strong>on</strong>al Informatics (NFI) and the Rehabilitati<strong>on</strong><br />

Engineering (RE). It probes the role of NFI research in promoting the RE and the requirements of RE <strong>on</strong> NFI research.<br />

The taking will analyze the inner link of NFI and RE by comparing their definiti<strong>on</strong>, study object and study scope. It<br />

introduces the model of Neural Functi<strong>on</strong> Informati<strong>on</strong> Transfer and Processing and Human Activity Assistive<br />

<strong>Technology</strong> Model. It forms a system that combines the research <strong>on</strong> Neuroscience, rehabilitati<strong>on</strong> engineering with<br />

clinic rehabilitati<strong>on</strong> treatment closely. As samples, the talking will introduce the researches <strong>on</strong> Neuro Functi<strong>on</strong>al<br />

Informatics and Rehabilitati<strong>on</strong> Engineering in Xi’an Jiaot<strong>on</strong>g University, Such as a neuro-informati<strong>on</strong> feedback<br />

(NFB) system is applied to treat the children with attenti<strong>on</strong> deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), Deep Brain<br />

Stimulator and MEMS Brain Electrode for the Pers<strong>on</strong>s with Parkins<strong>on</strong> Disease (PD), and so <strong>on</strong>.<br />

RE needs to be supported by NFI achievement and makes NFI research to be much significant and valuable <strong>on</strong> clinic<br />

rehabilitati<strong>on</strong>. It is believed that the understand to the mechanism of Neuro-functi<strong>on</strong>al informati<strong>on</strong> generati<strong>on</strong>,<br />

transfer and processing will open new ways and raise new methods for clinic rehabilitati<strong>on</strong> interventi<strong>on</strong> and<br />

evaluati<strong>on</strong>. It promotes also that new generati<strong>on</strong> products <strong>on</strong> rehabilitati<strong>on</strong> engineering and assistive technology<br />

come into being.<br />
