Signing up for ADSL<br />
Order your ADSL service connection from KPN (who own and monitor <strong>the</strong><br />
connections and lines), and <strong>the</strong>y charge a fee for <strong>the</strong> service on top <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> fee you<br />
pay to your Internet service provider (who own <strong>the</strong> computers servers that cope<br />
with your internet traffic). Primafoon staff can start an account for you with one <strong>of</strong><br />
<strong>the</strong> larger internet service providers, order your connection and set a connection<br />
date, and order <strong>the</strong> appropriate modem and equipment.<br />
ADSL connections can take a very long time to set up, so order as early as you<br />
can. The modem and cables arrive in <strong>the</strong> mail after a couple <strong>of</strong> weeks, but you<br />
must wait until KPN starts <strong>the</strong> connection before trying to install. S<strong>of</strong>tware<br />
installation is fairly straightforward, but instructions are in Dutch. If you don’t want<br />
to install <strong>the</strong> modem and set up <strong>the</strong> s<strong>of</strong>tware yourself, you can get a KPN<br />
technician to visit you. Most <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> time installation is free when you order your<br />
services for <strong>the</strong> Internet connection and <strong>the</strong> phone.<br />
If you have problems setting up, or your connection does not seem to have been<br />
started, you can call <strong>the</strong> KPN help line 0900-0244 (10 cent p/m) or technical<br />
department on 0800-0407(enter you phone number, <strong>the</strong>n options 2 <strong>the</strong>n 3)<br />
