Memory Population<br />

For the system to function, DIMM modules must be installed following the slot sequence listed below.<br />

DIMM module of the same type, size and manufacturer must be installed in the same colored DIMM slots.<br />

<strong>GT310</strong> <strong>F1</strong> platform has six DIMM slots in two memory channels that support two UDIMM<br />

modules or three RDIMM modules per channel. Depending on the type of processor installed,<br />

the system can support up to six RDIMM modules for Intel ® Xeon ® 3400 series or L3426<br />

processor, or four UDIMM modules for Intel Xeon X3400 series, L3426, Intel ® Core i3 series,<br />

Intel ® Pentium ® or L3406 processor. Detail memory population guideline is shown in the table<br />

below.<br />

1. Place DIMMs in "X" location.<br />

2. DIMM population must correspond to the above table.<br />

3. DIMM modules support 1 GB, 2 GB and 4 GB DIMMs.<br />

4. DIMM modules support 8 GB DIMMs (support depends on availability).<br />

5. Do not mix UDIMMs with RDIMMs.<br />

6. Use single rank and dual rank RDIMMs only for configuration D.<br />

7. RDIMM is only supported by Intel ® Xeon ® X3400 series and L3426 processors.<br />
