SSKL Start #87 (W 06) - 1:18
Between 1927 and 1933, the Mercedes-Benz
Racing Cars made their debut at all the
world’s important racing competitions. They
were the “victory monsters” of an impressive
winning streak and were affectionately
dubbed “white elephants”. Famous racing
drivers such as Hans Stuck, Carlos Zatuszek,
Manfred von Brauchitsch and Bernd
Rosemeyer played an important role in these
overwhelming successes. But one man beat
them all: Rudolf Caracciola, the titan at the
steering wheel. Rudolf Caracciola competed
in the Mille Miglia 1931, driving the No. 87
car - a SSKL that weighed about 125 kg less
than the SSK. It drove the crowds wild after
1,635 km on the road. No Italian drivers
could hold a candle to Rudolf Caracciola, who
sensationally won this world-famous long
distance race in a new record time.
This detail model with moving parts such as
engine hood, levers on the steering wheel,
windscreen. The model is in a styrofoam
packing with additional cardboard. Scale:
