Acrylic mediums form the backbone of acrylic painting techniques, providing the artist with the vehicle needed to achieve an endless variety of effects and expanding the boundaries of acrylic painting. Mantegna acrylic mediums were developed specifically for use with Mantegna Acrylic colours and are suitable for artists whose painting style benefits from extended working time. They can be used for a wide range of techniques, including portraiture, plein air painting, monoprinting, and screenprinting. These gessos dry to a semi-gloss finish, can be applied to a variety of surfaces such as paper, canvas, wood, fabric and ceramics and can easily be sanded to obtain smoother ground.
