Planning Consultants
More than a third of RTPI members work in the consultancy
sector, and the number is increasing steadily. They range
from sole practitioners, many of whom work from home, to
practitioners in major companies – with a variety in between.
The type of work they carry out is wide-ranging and includes:
• Planning applications and appeals
• Feasibility studies
• Impact studies
• Advocacy
• Conservation
• Research and monitoring
• Strategic and local planning
• Urban and rural design
• Funding advice
Many planning consultancies work on a national basis and
though they may not have an office based in this region,
consultancies based in neighbouring regions and further afield
will work within this region. The rear section of the leaflet lists
those consultancies that also operate within this area.
We also suggest that you look at other regional leaflets or
use the online directory (www.rtpiconsultants.co.uk) to source
the details of other firms in and around the region.
All regional leaflets are available for download at
www.rtpiconsultants.co.uk.
