A message from the Dean
In the fall of 1985, 20 friends came together to provide the first awards for
the Arts & Sciences Scholarship Program. In the years since, those farsighted
donors have been joined by many other generous alumni, parents, and friends.
Together, they have opened doors to the future for thousands of students at
Washington University.
Scholarships and fellowships offer talented students the chance to discover their full
potential. By making it possible to attract outstanding students from many different
backgrounds, scholarships also help to create a vibrant academic community that
enhances the learning experience for all.
The tradition of philanthropy we established nearly three decades ago continues
to thrive today. Increasing our resources for scholarships is one of the most
important priorities of Leading Together: The Campaign for Washington
University. This roster lists more than 500 scholarships and fellowships in
Arts & Sciences and pays tribute to the individuals who sponsor them.
Thank you for your generosity—and for your investment in the future of
Washington University and our students. Together, we will prepare the leaders
of tomorrow.
