MESSAGE FROM
THE GROUP MANAGING DIRECTOR
Firstly, let me express my appreciation
to everyone, especially to the staff
members of Bina Puri Group of
Companies. Thank you and may
everyone in good health, enjoy the
happy moments with your family.
In 2008, Bina Puri remained focused and
resilient in under difficult conditions and
downturn experienced throughout the
world by continuing to secure new projects
while completing a few landmark projects
in our order book. Indeed, we were also
recognized by our country’s Construction
Industry Board (“CIDB”) as Malaysia’s “Best International Builder”.
We registered a record revenue of RM676.5 million and pre-tax
profit of RM8.13 million. Although revenue increased by eleven
percent (11%), pre-tax profit declined by 5%. This was due to
escalation of construction raw materials which had spiraled
upwards on average by more than 50%.
We believe new opportunities have started to open up with the
timely introduction of a number of fiscal and financial initiatives
undertaken by the Malaysian Government to strengthen the
domestic economy as shown by the RM67 Billion stimulus
package. With our Bina Puri’s excellent performance and track
record, we are confident that we will be one of the major
beneficiaries to undertake some of the earmarked projects, thereby
adding value to our stakeholders. Our commitment to building
shareholders’ value, our experienced operations staff together with
our long standing ties with suppliers and sub-contractors are part
of our core value.
Our prospects remain vibrant, with a total book order of RM2.7
billion which consists of projects in Malaysia and overseas, namely
United Arab Emirates, Brunei, Pakistan and Thailand. In 2008, the
Group secured RM 830 million new projects with a higher
percentage of it in Malaysia (85% ) as compared to the previous
year (43%). Recognition and accolades have encouraged Bina Puri
to raise our standards further. As mentioned, we were proud
recipients of the CIDB International Achievement Award for our
projects in Thailand and the Innovative Award for the Bangplee
Project in Thailand.
The Construction Division will continue to be the core driver of the
Group as it accounts for 80% of the Group’s revenue. With raw
materials stabilizing, we anticipate that this division will have a
better year.
Our 50% associate, KL-Kuala Selangor Expressway Bhd, (KLSEB),
the concessionaire for KL-Kuala Selangor Expressway (KLS
Expressway), has finally started construction of the RM958 million
expressway after close to 10 years of anticipation. The
construction works had commenced on 28 October 2008 with
Mudajaya Corporation Berhad appointed as the Turnkey
Contractor after going through a competitive tendering and
evaluation process. The KLS Expressway is targeted to be
completed by 2011. On 13 January 2009, KL-Kuala Selangor
Expressway Bhd, has successfully achieved its financial close with
Bank Pembangunan Malaysia Berhad for the Istisna’ Facility of
RM740.0 million and Islamic Development Bank for the IstisnaaWa
Ijaraara’ facility of RM300.0 million.
The Property Division recorded an impressive revenue of RM46.9
million (RM35.6 million in 2007) and a profit before tax of RM3.1
million (RM2.6 million in 2007).The improved results were due to
progressive profits recognized from the Jesselton Condominium
and Taman Malawa Jaya, Phase 2 sold during the year. Having
successfully launched Phase 2 of Taman Malawa Jaya in Kota
Kinabalu, which comprised of 4 storey walkup Apartments totaling
96 units, the Property Division is now focusing on launching its
latest development in JesseltonView@Hilltop comprising 1 block
of 80 units of modern and contemporary condominium built over
2 acres of land.
This new development is located at the highest point in Hilltop
Luyang, Kota Kinabalu, a well sought after address. Jesselton View
@ Hilltop will be another niche development after the success of
our high end 15-storey Jesselton condominium at Jalan Bersatu off
Jalan Damai, Kota Kinabalu which is now recognized as one of the
top address in the city.
The quarry and ready mix concrete division recorded a revenue of
RM91.2 million (RM107.8 million in 2007) and a profit before tax
of RM2.8 million (RM3.3 million in 2007), while the Polyol Division
recorded a revenue of RM18.7 million (RM23.3 million in 2007)
and a profit before tax of RM20,000 (RM961,000 in 2007).
The year 2009 looks to be a promising year. While executing the
many projects that are on-hand,we are also aggressively bidding
for new orders within and outside Malaysia. We are confident of
securing more than RM1.5billion in new projects for 2009 as a
whole as our success rate over the past few years have been good.
Until 15th May 2009, we have managed to secure new projects in
excess of RM1billion, with the major portion of it being the RM693
million contract to build 2,000 houses in Brunei. We believe Brunei
will be a promising base for the Group as Thailand was in 2006.
We also hope the KLS Expressway when completed in 2011, will
assist to bring the Group recurring income. We are confident that
the other divisions will perform better as everyone will be extra
motivated to achieve targets with new Key Performance Indicators
are being set for each divisions and departments.
Our staffs are the most valuable resource and are vital to the
Group. Recently, we awarded The “Best Employee Awards” to
recognize the achievements and contributions of each individual
to the Group. Congratulations to the receivers.
Our active Kelab Sukan & Sosial Bina Puri had initiated many
activities including outing, bowling tournament, badminton
tournament, table tennis tournament and others. These activities
serve as a platform of interaction and communication between the
members in the Group. The Sports Club led by Tuan Syed Nasser
is currently planning on the Group’s family day which will be held this year. I would
like to encourage all staff to stay healthy by participating in sports events
organized by the Sports Club or if not, at your own initiative. Staying fit and
healthy is an important ingredient towards quality living both at work and at
home. Malaysians in general tend to neglect exercise while enjoying excess
consumption of food.
Bina Puri has always supported the Government’s call to be a good corporate
citizen. We supported the National Blood Bank, where Blood Donation Drive are
organized periodically at the Head Office in Selayang and we made contributions
to Sichuan Earthquake, China and the Gaza-Palestin Campaign.
Last but not least, we encourage individuals to excel in their studies and academic
performance. For that reason, we provide Undergraduate Scholarship Awards to
our employees’ children pursuing degree and professional courses and presented
the Educations Incentives for students and staff who perform well in their
examinations and studies for primary, secondary, tertiary and professional levels.
Finally, let me once again express my appreciation to the staff and management.
We shall strive to work together and harder in achieving our goals. May good
health be with all of us and our family members.

Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,
salam sejahtera,
and a very good morning.
Today, we are just about 2 weeks into the New
Year 2009. However, we cannot avoid to look
back into 2008 wherein the international
economies have experienced economic
meltdown. Among the triggering factors were
the severe problems of sub-prime loans in the
United States and Europe which created negative
domino effects in the world financial system, the
trading system and world market place. The US
with the largest economy is already in trouble
attributable also with the massive global
writedowns and credit losses which currently
amounting to a little over USD1 trillion, of which
two-thirds originated from the US. The other
three traditional vibrant economies i.e the
European Union (EU), Japan and China have also
been affected. They are now experiencing their
own respective problems such
rising unemployment and cut-down on
inventories. On the international front there is a
general pattern of reduction of supply and
demand, growing unemployment, general loss in
confidence and a general down ward spiral of
asset prices.
Malaysia, being an export-led nation, is
no exception. We have to brace ourselves
to face the escalating difficult
economic conditions at least in 2009.
Notwithstanding, Malaysia has still some strong
economic fundamentals. We are also fortunate
that the Federal Government under the Barisan
Nasional has introduced a number of fiscal and
financial initiatives to stabilize and strengthen our
domestic economic system.
In this respect, our Government has taken several
measures to counter the effect of the world
economic meltdown, among which, by
announcing a RM7 billion stimulus package in
November 2008 and to roll out the High Impact
Projects under the 9th Malaysian Plan to stimulate
the economy. The Government has revised the
GDP growth forecast to drop to 3.5% from 5.4%
projected previously for 2009 as the Government
expects revenue to fall, due also to the drop in
Petronas’ oil revenue and expected decrease in
exports to Europe and the United States. Our
Deputy Prime Minister, who is also the Finance
Minister, Yang Amat Berhormat Dato’ Sri Mohd
Najib Tun Razak has stated that if need be, the
Government would announce more stimulus
packages to lessen the burden of all Malaysians in
facing the economic crisis.
At the micro and more positive front at our Bina
Puri Group, I am happy to note and report that
we were able to weather through the difficult
economic conditions in 2008 with timely
completions of several major projects and along
the way achieved some outstanding success. I am
proud to say that this is our trade mark.
Ladies and Gentlemen:
This morning I am pleased to announce that we
have been awarded by the Construction
Development Industry Board (CIDB) during the
Malaysian Construction Industry Excellence
Award (MCIEA) event this evening as the recipient
for International Award for our projects in
Thailand and the Innovation Award for the
Bangplee Project, Thailand. I wish to express my
appreciation and congratulate our Joint Venture
partner, DEVA Development Public Co. Ltd (DEVA)
and the team members in Bina Puri (Thailand) Ltd
for this outstanding achievement. Since 2006, we
have participated together with DEVA to
construct 8 packages of low cost housing
schemes for the National Housing Authority of
Thailand valued at about Baht 10 billion
(approximately RM1 billion). These two awards
from CIDB are testimonies and recognition for the
successful cross-border partnership between
DEVA and our Bina Puri Group in Thailand. In this
respect, I like to single out our Group Managing
Director, Yang Berhormat Senator Tan Sri Datuk
Tee Hock Seng for your untiring and relentless
efforts to make our projects in Thailand a success
despite facing various difficulties.
Ladies and Gentlemen:
On the domestic front, we have completed
several projects in 2008 and among them were
the 3rd Lane Widening of the Plus Highway
between Rawang and Tanjung Malim; Building
Works for North and South Office Towers for
Capital Square Development; Kompleks
Ibupejabat Pentadbiran PLUS Berhad at the
Subang Toll Plaza; and our very own property
project in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, the Jesselton
Condominium (all 133 units have been sold).
On our overseas operations, we have completed
the Infrastructure Works at Sungai Liang Industrial
Park, Brunei; Interior Decoration & Fittings Out
works for Abu Dhabi National Islamic Finance
Company; and four (4) packages of the low cost
housing schemes in Thailand namely, Krasaebon
(272 units), Nadee (1,288 units), Romkloa (6,024
units) and Bangplee (5,604 units).
With the dedication and efforts put in by the top
management of Bina Puri Group, we have been
awarded several new local projects namely
Terrace Houses Development, Papar, Sabah;
Infrastructure and Building Works at University
Malaysia Kelantan, Bachok; Eastern Dispersal Link
(EDL) Johor Bahru, Johor; and the Construction
of the Central Lecture Hall and Post Graduates
Centre for University Malaysia Sabah, Kota
Kinabalu, Sabah.
On the international front, we have secured
projects such as Works at Club House at Phase VI
DHA, Lahore, Pakistan; and most recently in
Thailand, a project for warehouse construction at
Rojana Industrial Park at Ayutthaya.
Another significant contract and a new milestone
worth mentioning is our successful bid in 2009
for a RM693 million contract to build 2000
houses for the National Housing Scheme of
Brunei Darussalam from the Brunei Economic
Development Board n view of the above, our
prospects remain good with current Order Book
has increased to RM2.7 billion keeping us busy
for the next two years. Out of this RM2.7 billion,
about RM1.2 billion or 44% represents Bina Puri
projects in Malaysia and RM1.5 billion or 56% are
our overseas projects. With regard to the Kuala
Lumpur-Kuala Selangor Expressway Bhd (KLKSE)
toll road concession project, KLKSE has recently
signed the Loan Facility Agreement with Bank
Pembangunan Malaysia on 10 December 2008
for a loan package of RM740 million signaling the
financial close for the project. The construction
works for the project have already started on 28
October 2008 and we target for completion for
the whole expressway and the administrative
building within 30 months. We have 50%
shareholding interest in KLKSE and we look
forward to positive contribution in the form of a
stable and growing income stream from KLKSE to
the Group when the highway is fully
commissioned.
Ladies and Gentlemen:
Bina Puri Group of Companies’ key objective for
the coming years is to remain focus in our core
business that is construction and engineering for
business expansion and profit generation.
Economic experts have predicted that year 2009
would be a very difficult year due to the impact
and spill over of world financial and economic
meltdown which started in 2008. We in Bina Puri
Group of Companies have to remain vigilant and
prudent in our financial management to survive in
this difficult economic environment. We have to
monitor our cost and spending wisely and we
need to promote the “SAVE COST” culture within
our Group.
For the financial year ended 31 December 2008,
Bina Puri Holdings Bhd achieved satisfactory
results overall, with the Group reporting a 11.3%
increase in our revenue to RM676.5 million from
RM607.9 million recorded in 2007. Profit before
tax decreased slightly to RM8.0 million as
compared with the RM8.5 million recorded in the
previous year, while earnings per share for 2008
was 5.17 sen (2007: 8.60 sen). For 2007, our
annual turnover achieved was RM 607.9 million.
In the first half of Year 2008, the construction
industry was badly affected by the sharp increase
of prices for building materials and fuel. For
example steel bar prices in Malaysia had exceeded
RM4,000 per ton and world oil prices had
exceeded USD145 per barrel by mid 2008.
Malaysians felt the impact as the Government
had increased petrol price at the pump from
RM1.92 to RM2.70 per litre in June 2008.
However, the world oil prices have since came
down in the 2nd half of 2008. Our Government
has been lowering the petrol price and recently
the price has dropped to RM1.80 per litre. Steel
prices have also dropped to about RM2,500 per
ton at the end of 2008 and we expect the price
to drop further to below RM2,000 per ton in early
2009. Liberalization by the Malaysian
Government to allow the imports of steel bars for
construction projects would also assist to ease the
price of steel. With these positive development, I
hope our Bina Puri construction units will be able
to sustain and improve on profit margin for
our projects.
Bina Puri Holdings Bhd has recently paid an
interim dividend for Year 2008 of 2% less
tax @ 25% on 9 January 2009 making the
total dividend declared for the current
financial year to 4% per share (6% in
2007), subject to the approval of the
shareholders at the forthcoming Annual
General Meeting on 28 May 2009.
We must be constantly aware of the
expectations of our shareholders to achieve
higher profit and to pay respectable and
reasonable dividends. In this respect, our
parent company, Bina Puri Holdings Bhd
would expect all our subsidiaries of the
Group to pay dividend as a return of our
investments. As such, I would expect all
subsidiaries of the Group to improve on
their financial results by maximizing the
profit level for payment of dividends.
The “Special Task Force” formed after the
Senior Management’s workshop in Janda
Baik in 2007 and chaired by our
Independent Director, Encik Khalid Sufat
would have to play an important role in
implementing and monitoring the Key
Performance Indicators (KPI) for all our
subsidiaries this year. For a start, the Group
EXCO has instructed that all on-going
construction projects secured by our Group
have to set the relevant KPIs for each
project. All departmental and division heads
within all our subsidiaries have to set their
own KPIs and these KPIs would be
consolidated into the subsidiary KPIs and
the Group KPIs respectively. The work of the
Special Task Force does not end here. In the
early part of the first quarter 2009, I would
like the Special Task Force to start working
on a specific proposal on how to streamline
the Group Policy in a comprehensive and
synergistic manner as part of total
management system in finance, human
capital, project execution, profit
maximization and others.
Cashflow planning and management is an
essential ingredients for a company to
function in good or bad times. Therefore, it
is imperative we now need to organize
ourselves effectively to maximize our
income by reducing bank borrowings. From
the financial report, I observe that our
interest payments to financial institutions
have depleted our potential income by
more than 30%. I urged all management
and staff, especially those who are directly
involve in operations to be more sensitive
and effective on the methodology applied
used in the execution of each project.
Cross financing between projects should
not be practised. This unhealthy exercise
tends to divert the attention from the real
actual issue which is a sick project to a
bearable or acceptable ”hedging” system.
As a reminder to all I would like to reiterate
that we are a construction company and
not a financial institution where fund
hedging is a norm.
In the area of our Business Plan, the
Business Plan budget and profit forecast is
a very powerful management tool if utilized
smartly. This tool will assist the Group in
achieving cashflow planning as well curbing
inter project cross financing. It is essential
that all our business units need to achieve
their respective quarterly target in a
consistent manner so that the annual
forecast can be achieved. I am confident
that all of us in Bina Puri Group will be able
to combine our resources together to work
on all these improvements and I am
confident we all can do much better and
achieve more than what we have today.
Also, we need to continue to put in place
good corporate governance including on
the human dimension side the factor of
honesty and integrity at all levels of
management.
Ladies and Gentlemen:
As part of our Corporate Social
Responsibility (CSR), Bina Puri Group of
Companies has always supported the
Government’s vision of a Caring Society.
The Group EXCO has recently approved

payment of scholarships to thirteen (13)
recipients who are children of our
management and staff. The Group also has
been providing incentives to management
and staff children who have done well in
examinations and providing training to all
staff. The Group has also contributed to the
needs of the less fortunate in our society
and supported the activities of Kelab Sukan
Dan Sosial Bina Puri in organizing Blood
Donation Campaigns together with sports
and social events.
On behalf of myself and on behalf of Yang
Berhormat Senator Tan Sri Datuk Tee Hock
Seng and members of the Board, I would
like to extend our thanks and gratitude to
all our management and staff for your
commitment and support to the Group and
we will build on this strength to achieve

Ltd, was awarded the "International
Achivement Award" during the Malaysian
Construction Industry Excellence Award,
MCIEA 2008 for the outstanding
completion of projects in Thailand namely,
Bangplee, Nadee and Kraseobon in 2008.
The award ceremony was held at the new
CIDB Convention Centre at Jalan Cheras,
Kuala Lumpur which was graciously
attended by the Minister of Works
Malaysia, YB Dato' Ir Mohamad Zin bin
Mohamed. YB Senator Tan Sri Datuk Tee
Hock Seng, JP, Group MD and Madam
Churairat E. Bonython, Advisor to
Chairman of Deva Property Development
Plc Ltd received the award on behalf of Bina
Puri Holdings Bhd. Apart from the above award, Bina Puri also was
one of the receivers for the certificate of appreciation of the
"Special Award - Innovation" for the usage of TunnelForm System
for Bangkok projects.

The Malaysian Construction Industry Excellence Awards (MCIEA) is
intended to be the Malaysian premier accolades for all round
excellence, promoted by CIDB Malaysia. Bina Puri had won the
Prominent Player Award (YB Senator Tan Sri Datuk Tee Hock Seng,
JP) in the year 2005, Contractor Award - G7 (Capital Square
Condomium) in the year 2007 and the recent award, International
Achivement Award 2008 (Thailand project).
The Editorial Board wish to express our appreciation and
congratulate Mr Magendran and the team members, Khun
Simaporn, Mr Cheah Chee Hong, Mr Chow Chee Seng, Khun Ann,

BINA PURI IN MALAYSIA SERVICES EXHIBITION, DUBAI

The Opening Ceremony of the Exhibition
B
ina Puri participated in the Malaysia Services Exhibition
2009 (MSE 2009) held at the Dubai Airport Expo Exhibition
Centre in Dubai, UAE from 17 ~ 19 March 2009. The
exhibition was organized by the Malaysia External Trade
Development Corporation (MATRADE). MSE 2009 was an
excellent avenue for Malaysian services providers to network
and forge alliances with potential clients or partners in the
West Asian region.
Bina Puri joined the Construction Cluster which was led by
CIDB and MBAM, together with other big players including
IJM, WCT, Naim Cendera, Eversendai and KLIA Premier. The
company was represented by Mr. Lee Seng Fong and Pn. Nor
Paizah from HQ Office and Mr. Lee Boon Hock who is based
in Abu Dhabi.
Construction cluster was among the most visited booths
during the exhibition. We received many inquiries and
proposals for project development and construction activities
from various countries including UAE, Syria, Oman, Qatar,
Yemen, Iraq, Africa as well as Gaza.

s Teh Lay Poh, who is one of the long
service employee was among those who

2008. Ms Teh is the Senior Purchasing
Manager, who has worked with Bina Puri for
25 years since 1984. She said that Bina Puri is
part of her life. Commitment and Dedication
at work are the two main ingrediants for her
success.

Giving the best service at all times should be
a baseline for all employees, said Mr
Jayaparathy cheerfully.
Meanwhile, touching on the secret of success,
Ms Low Yoke Lan said that she follows her
HOD’s instructions carefully and executes the
task immediately with full responsibility.
On the same occasion, Mr Jumri advised all
colleagues to be creative at work and to
perform every tasks wholeheartedly.
All the best employees received the awards in
a ceremony on 17th March 2008, witnessed
by 180 audiences.
At the same occasion, Subang project and
Romklao project were announced as the
recipients of the Bina Puri Best Site Award and
Best International Award.
The Subang project manager, Mr. Soong
Koong Chan led his team to receive the
award and for Romklao project, Mr Matthew

FINANCING FACILITIES FOR KL-KSEB
O
ur associate, KL-Kuala Selangor
Expressway Bhd, (KLSEB), the
concessionaire for KL-Kuala Selangor
Expressway (KLS Expressway), has finally
started construction of the RM958 million
expressway after close to 10 years of
anticipation.
The construction works had commenced
on 28 October 2008 with Mudajaya
Corporation Berhad being appointed the
Turnkey Contractor after going through a
competitive tendering and evaluation
process. The KLS Expressway is targeted
to be completed by 2011.
On 13 January 2009, KL-Kuala Selangor
Expressway Berhad, had successfully
achieved its financial close with Bank
Pembangunan Malaysia Berhad for the
Istisna’ Facility of RM740.0 million and
Islamic Development Bank for the Istisnaa
Wa Ijaraa ra’ facility of RM300.0 million.

Construction Sdn Bhd was audited by SIRIM QAS International Sdn
Bhd to ensure compliance to ISO 9001:2000 requirements. The
auditors, led by Ir. Sohaimi Bin Samad and assisted by En. Heeza Izwan
Bin Mohd Hasnan verified the management system implementation
both at Head Office and Muar Project. The company passed the
surveillance audit with only one minor non-conformity which was
subsequently closed.
While on 20 th March 2009, Bina Puri Holdings Bhd was audited by
SIRIM for The Surveillance Audit. BPHB excelled the audit with no NCR
issued.

he ISO 9001 : 2000 Standard Quality Management System has
recently undergone a review exercise that led to the newly
published ISO 9001 : 2008 on 15th November 2008.
The main objective of the review is to provide greater clarity and ease
of use as well as to improve its compatibility with ISO 14001:2004.
However, there are no significant changes to the standard unlike the
previous upgrading exercise from ISO 9002:1994 to ISO 9001:2000.
The eight Quality Management System principles are still maintained
and organizations already subscribing to the preceding standard will
be given until 15 th November 2010 to conform and implement ISO
9001:2008 requirements.
Bina Puri Sdn Bhd and Bina Puri Construction Sdn Bhd are presently in
the process of updating its quality management system
documentations in line with the revised standard and is expected to be
audited based on the new standard in June 2009.

Unique design of DUN
DUN Building
Bina Puri Sdn Bhd had completed the construction of Komplek
Dewan Undangan Negeri Sarawak (DUN) on 31 April 2009. On 4th
May 2009, a completion visit and Group Photograph Session were
organized at the site. Delegation included, YBhg Dato’ Mohamed
Feisal Ibrahim, Executive Chairman, YB Senator Tan Sri Datuk Tee
Hock Seng, Group Managing Director, Mr Henry Tee, Managing
Director, BPCSB, the Senior Management Team and the Project
Team.
The day started with a final tour and visit into DUN Complex by the
Board Members led by Y.Bhg Dato’ Mohamed Feisal Ibrahim, Senior
Management and Project Team members. The tour included visits to
the DUN Chamber, the CM’s office, the Minister’s Office, the
Banquet Halls, the Lobby, the Lapau Hall, the Surau, the VVIP/VIP
DUN Lounge, the DUN Lounge, the Library, the Press Conference

Room, the Strong Room and others. Before the photo session, a
gathering was organized at the Conference Room where both
Y.Bhg Dato’ Mohamed Feisal and YB Senator Tan Sri Datuk Tee
Hock Seng presented the token plaques to the project team
members and the guests.
Later at about 4.30 pm, together with the JV partner, PPS and Naim
Cendera, JKR and the consultants, there was a group photo taken
at the parking area, where the completed DUN project stood
proudly as the background of the photo.
An appreciation dinner for all the project team members and guests
concluded day ~ as an expression of appreciation for all the hard
work and the commitment in completing the DUN project.

mil) to be completed within 7 months commencing from December 2008.

2,000 houses for Brunei Economic Development Board
Bina Puri Holdings Bhd was appointed by the Brunei Economic Development
Board (BEDB) as the Management Contractor to plan, design and construct
2,000 houses within 24 months in a 180 Ha green field in Kuala Belait
District, Brunei Darussalam. The contract sum is B$ 288.7 mil (approx.
RM 693.0 mil) commencing from April 2009. The works involve the
construction of 1,200 units of Terrace Houses and 800 units of Semi-D
Houses including all the required infrastructures such as earthworks, road,
drainage, water supply, sewerage work and M&E work.

2009 a site visit to the construction areas of
KL-Kuala Selangor Expressway was
organised. The group comprised of the
contractor, Mudajaya Corporation, the
consultants, HSSI and Endeover, the subcontractors.
Progress and details of
contruction activities was briefed by En
Amran Amir, CEO of KLSEB and Mr Yong
Yee Coi, Director of Mudajaya. Other
personnels during the visit included En
Mohamed Raffe Chekku, Mr Tan Kwe Hee,
Mr David Lee, Mr Lee Seng Fong, Mr Ooi Tat
Lean and others.
The 1st stop was the Templer Park
Interchange at CH300000 followed by Kg
Sungai Samak at CH 29000. Later the group
proceeded to the 3rd stop at the Kuang
System Interchange (CH21000) and Ijok
Interchange (CH12000). They were also
briefed on location of the permanent
operation office and staff quaters which will
be located at CH12000. The next stop was
the Assam Jawa Interchange (ending of the
expressway) at CH 3000. Finally the group
visited the contactors's workshop at CH
17200 (Kuang) and their site office building,

Bina Puri Construction Sdn Bhd secured the subcontract work from Variasi Baru Sdn Bhd for the
construction and completion of the 2nd Central Lecture Hall & Post Graduates Center on Design
& Build Concept for Universiti Malaysian Sabah, Kota Kinabalu. The contract sum is RM 161.6 mil
and work commenced in November 2008 with 30 months contract period.
8-Storey Medium Cost Apartments, Menggatal, Kota Kinabalu
Bina Puri Construction Sdn Bhd in Joint venture with Kinsanuri Sdn Bhd secured the Proposed
1,664 units 8-Storey Medium Cost Apartments in Kg. Darau, Menggatal, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah
from the Syarikat Perumahan Negara Berhad with contract sum of RM 224.1 mil. The work
commenced in February 2009 with 40 months contract period.
Infrastructure Works for Pre-Clinical Building, UKM, Cheras
Bina Puri Construction Sdn Bhd secured the subcontract work from Tim Sekata Sdn Bhd for the
Site Clearance, Earthworks and Piling Works for the construction of Pre-Clinical Building
comprising 1 Block of 22-storey Building for Medical Faculty, I Block Auditorium and 1 Block 8-
Storey Car Park for Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur. The contract sum is
RM 19.5 mil to be completed in September 2009.
Bangunan Markas 92 Angkatan Tentera Cawangan Khas, K. Lumpur
Bina Puri Construction Sdn Bhd secured the subcontract work from Pembinaan HRS Sdn Bhd for
the construction of Bangunan Markas 92 Angkatan Tentera Cawangan Khas (ATCK), Genting
Klang, K. Lumpur. The contract sum is RM 43 mil with construction period of 24 months.
Universiti Malaysia Kelantan, Bachok, Package 2 – Building Works
Konsortium Syarikat Bina Puri – TA3 JV Sdn Bhd secured Package 2 : Building Works for the
Universiti Malaysia Kelantan, Kampus Bachok with contract value of RM60 mil and 15 months
construction period commencing March 2009. This is continuing from Package 1 : Infrastructure
Works secured earlier, and which is now nearing completion.
Pusat Latihan Polis (Pulapol), K. Lumpur
Bina Puri Construction Sdn Bhd secured the subcontract work from Pembinaan Tajri Sdn Bhd for

Gaza Strip. On 26 th February 2009 held at
NSTP office, The president of KSSBP, Tuan
Syed Nasser Bin Syed Omar, together with a
few Bina Puri officials, presented the
collected donations to NSTP representative
for ‘NSTP Fund for Gaza’.
It was learned that the donations would be
used to provide medical supplies and
equipment to Palestinian hospitals in the
Gaza Strip as well as to re-construct basic
infrastructures there such as schools and
water supply.

BOWLING TOURNAMENT
Bowling Tournament 2008 was held on
Sunday, 30 November at Ampang
Superbowl, Flamingo. It started as early as
10:30. The tournament was divided into 3

Bank had successfully organized the
second Blood Donation Campaign during
the monthly assembly on 25 November
2008 which is held twice a year.
The campaign held was open to Bina Puri
staff and management as well as to the
public living in Bina Puri’s office vicinity.
Participation from all staff, management
and the public was very encouraging.
The campaign that took almost 5 hours,
started at 9:00 am and finished about
2:00 pm.
