Nicole (Dupes) Bostel is in her fi fth year at<br />

the <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Denver</strong>. Bostel serves as the<br />

primary sport contact for volleyball, women’s<br />

basketball and men’s lacrosse.<br />

Bostel joined the <strong>DU</strong> communications staff in<br />

August <strong>of</strong> 2008 after serving as the season-long communications intern<br />

for the Orlando Magic (NBA franchise). She was promoted in January<br />

<strong>2011</strong> to Associate Director <strong>of</strong> Communications.<br />

Bostel’ responsibilities include serving as the primary contact for men’s<br />

lacrosse and volleyball, with secondary responsibilities with men’s and<br />

women’s swimming and diving, gymnastics, and men’s and women’s<br />

golf.<br />

During her 10 months with the Magic, Bostel was responsible for writing<br />

press releases, creating and distributing season/game credentials and<br />

handling the day-to-day operations for the communications staff and<br />

team.<br />

Prior to the Magic, Bostel served as the marketing coordinator for<br />

Nova Southeastern <strong>University</strong>’s D-II athletic department for the<br />

2006-07 season and the sports information assistant from Jan. 2005<br />

to July 2006. During her time at NSU, Bostel served as the primary<br />

contact for volleyball, women’s basketball and s<strong>of</strong>tball, with secondary<br />

responsibility in men’s and women’s soccer, men’s basketball, baseball,<br />

men’s and women’s golf, women’s rowing and women’s tennis. She<br />

was also responsible for the layout and design <strong>of</strong> all the department’s<br />

publications and marketing materials for each sport.<br />

Before NSU, Bostel served as a student assistant in the <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong><br />

Florida’s Sports Information Department from Aug. 2001 to Dec. 2004.<br />

Her career in media relations began in Jan. 1999 with the Miami Fusion,<br />

MLS franchise (dissolved Jan. 2002) while she was a student in high<br />

school until her graduation in June 2001.<br />

Bostel, a native <strong>of</strong> Davie, Fla., graduated from the <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> Florida<br />

in Gainesville, Fla., in Dec. 2004 with a Bachelor <strong>of</strong> Science in public<br />

relations and a Bachelor <strong>of</strong> Arts in German. She graduated in December<br />

<strong>of</strong> <strong>2011</strong> with a Master <strong>of</strong> Science in Public Relations from <strong>DU</strong>’s <strong>University</strong><br />

College.<br />

She resides in Highlands Ranch, Colo., with her husband Shane.<br />

PIONEER VISION<br />

Mitch Hyder is in his 14th season as the “Voice <strong>of</strong> Pioneer Basketball,”<br />

and will provide all the play-by-play analysis on Pioneer Vision and<br />

Pioneer Radio this season.<br />

Twelve women’s basketball home games, along with select road<br />

games, will be shown live on Pioneer Vision, while <strong>DU</strong> vs. CU on Dec.<br />

11 will air live on ROOT Sports. Pioneer Vision is available via the<br />

internet on the www.<strong>Denver</strong>Pioneers.com website.<br />
