Family Feud Revisited<br />

March 18 th, Surdyke Harley Davidson in Festus, MO, had<br />
a St. Patrick’s Day Party. Me being Irish <strong>and</strong> all, well I had<br />
to go, <strong>and</strong> I was glad I did. All of the Surdyke dealerships<br />
know how to throw a great event <strong>and</strong> I like all of them, but<br />
truth be told, I have a special p<strong>lace</strong> reserved for this <strong>one</strong>.<br />
<strong>The</strong> people there have always liked <strong>and</strong> supported the<br />
magazine <strong>and</strong> for that I am truly grateful.<br />
This event was very well attended with many bikes parked<br />
outside as I arrived. As always there were food <strong>and</strong><br />
beverages available, <strong>and</strong> the friendly staff of this dealership<br />
makes it a great p<strong>lace</strong> to visit. I walked around renewing<br />
the acquaintance of old friends <strong>and</strong> making new <strong>one</strong>s. I<br />
was amazed at the great selection of 2006’s available but<br />
don’t take my word for it, check it out for yourself.<br />
In addition to the many deals available on parts <strong>and</strong><br />
accessories, the dealership also had on display all the bikes<br />
from their dealership family <strong>Bike</strong> Build Off. This is the<br />
second <strong>year</strong> for this event <strong>and</strong> the bikes are much better<br />
than last <strong>year</strong>’s entries. You can see that even though this is<br />
a dealership family, there is some good natured sibling<br />
rivalry between them. <strong>The</strong>y all want to win. This <strong>year</strong> they<br />
added entries from the Victory <strong>and</strong> Yamaha dealers too.<br />
All the bikes are sharp <strong>and</strong> each <strong>one</strong> has a different theme<br />
or area of emphasis like the Veteran-themed bike—another<br />
went for performance <strong>and</strong> yet another for a radical paint<br />
job. <strong>The</strong>se bikes are all special in their own right, <strong>and</strong> I<br />
urge all of you to get to <strong>one</strong> of the dealerships in the near<br />
future <strong>and</strong> check them out.<br />
I had a great time visiting with the friendly folks that work<br />
<strong>and</strong> patronize this shop. If you want to know when the bikes<br />
will be on display next, check our calendar of events. As<br />
you know, we list as many of the local events as we can<br />
there, or I’ll just bet you can see them on display at the<br />
upcoming dealer parties celebrating the return of the All<br />
Harley Drag Racing Association <strong>and</strong> the Gypsy Rendezvous<br />
the weekend of May 5 th through the 7 th .
