<strong>Newton</strong> <strong>Abbot</strong>’s successful Water Polo teams also received awards:<br />
The U15’s for winning the regional Chris Waller tournament and<br />
silver medals for finishing Runners Up in the Devon League, with<br />
the ladies team going one better winning the Devon League Trophy.<br />
The Coach’s player of the year was presented to JON TRIST.<br />
The night ended with an obligatory disco where the youngsters<br />
danced to the latest beats, who then hid in the corner with<br />
embarrassment as the parents moved in to cramp their style -<br />
Earlier key local shops in <strong>Newton</strong> had donated some quality draw<br />
prizes which helped the club make a handsome profit on the night<br />
which will contribute towards the cost of the trophies. Many thanks<br />
to Tony Pryce, Sainsburys, Panasonic, Ten Tors, Floral Passion<br />
Florist, Pizza Café, Martin Regan Hair Salon, Choice Words, Marks<br />
and Spencer, Somerfield, Argos and Asda.<br />
Also, a huge thank you to everyone who worked so hard behind the<br />
scenes to make the event so successful – You know who you are!<br />
