First presented in 1993 to the nation’s outstanding<br />
Divi sion iii player by the Downtown Wilkes-Barre (PA)<br />
Touchdown Club. The award is named after Clifford<br />
K. melberger, captain of the 1960 Bucknell football<br />
team that won the lambert Cup and a member of the<br />
Touchdown Club’s board of directors.<br />

HALL OF FAME<br />
Established: in 1947, by the National <strong>Football</strong><br />
Foundation and College Hall of Fame, inc. The first<br />
class of enshrinement of <strong>Division</strong> i or major-college<br />
players was in 1951. in 1996, the yearly classes elected<br />
were expanded to include other than <strong>Division</strong> i players.<br />
Eligibility: A nominated player must be out of college<br />
at least 10 years and a first-team All-America selection<br />
by a major selector during his career. For divisional<br />
(college-division) players, the player must have been a<br />
first-team selection on a recognized All-America team<br />
in the <strong>Football</strong> Championship Subdivision, <strong>Division</strong>s<br />
ii or iii, or the NAiA. Coaches must be retired three<br />
years or are eligible immediately after retirement provided<br />
they are at least 70 years of age. Active coaches<br />
become eligible at 75 years of age. Coaches must have<br />
been a head coach for a minimum of 10 years and<br />
have coached at least 100 games with a .600 winning<br />
percentage. The voting is done by a 12-member panel<br />
made up of athletics directors, conference and bowl<br />
officials, and media representatives.<br />
