ADJUDICATION
Each participant, or group, will receive an oral and written adjudication. With the exception of provincial
candidates, no certificates of placement or marks will be given (as per GVPAFA policy).

Note: If you wish to be considered for Provincial candidacy, you must enter solo classes at the Provincial
Level (i.e. Ballet Level II, etc.).
To enter a Provincial category, a dancer must compete in two (2) or more solo classes in the dance category
for which he/she is entered – i.e. Ballet, Modern or Stage. A dancer must achieve a mark of 85 in their
qualifying solo in order to be considered for recommendation.
AGE CATEGORIES ARE AS FOLLOWS:
Level I – Age 10-12 Level II – Age 15 and under Level III – Age 20 and under
BALLET is open to all of the above Levels. One of the solos must be Ballet demi-pointe (or pointe for ages 13
and up) and the other solo from the Ballet Section.
MODERN is open to Level II and Level III only. Both solos may be from the Modern Section or a second solo
from the Ballet Section or lyrical from the Stage Section. Qualifying solo must be from Modern Section.
STAGE is open to all of the above Levels. Two solos from the Stage Section or Hip Hop may be used as a second
solo but may not be the qualifying solo.
TECHNICAL/THEATRE INFORMATION
GLITTER – As per the venue rules, use of any glitter is strictly prohibited (costumes/makeup, etc.). Extra
cleaning costs incurred by GVPAFA will be charged to the studio or individual to whom the glitter is attributed.
Lighting
All solos/duets – 3 minutes maximum
Small groups and Groups – 6 minutes maximum
Production – 15 minutes maximum

Lights are preset and will remain the same for all performances. Sorry, special effects are not available.
