So I’ll remind you of this.
On March 23rd 2003
You knocked on my door with a bottle of
Chardy
You melted my heart - I knew this was it
On September 17th 2003
You got down on your knee in front of 50 family &
friends and asked for my hand in marriage
Of course I said YES
We have been through so much together
You know it all I don’t need to mention them
We have built town houses, we have renovated a house,
we’ve taken a trip or 2 of a lifetime
We’ve made great friends, we’ve seen some sights,
We have incredible memories; we’ve camped at some
unreal places.
Our road’s been full but I wouldn’t change any of that
part until..

So I’ll tell you this.
On September 18th 2010
We’d completed our trip up North we
had a ball.
You, me, a drink or two, a deck of cards, a
set of boxing gloves,
Our sand shoes, our very own camp site.
Then we decided I’d make the big move
You had organised the house and I had
packed my 6 boxes,
With the dog in tow and our big
4750km drive
Just to be side by side, just to have what
we both wanted, each other
Then I erupted your world one thing by
one thing
I had let the team down - my actions - my
process has now made it so hard for our future
As I sit and read all the cards you have sent me
over 8 years
“Thanks you’re the best”, “Thanks for being there”, “I Love
you this much”, “Once in a lifetime”, “Forgive Me” and “Just
Cause”

I know how stupid I’ve been and what I have thrown away.
So now I’ll thank you for this
I want to thank you for always believing in me and never
letting me give up
I want to thank you for giving me the miracle of our love –
As a love like ours only happens once in a lifetime
I want to thank you for loving me enough to do anything
for me
Enough to believe in our relationship to stand by it through
the worst of times to have faith in our strength as a couple
And to never give up on us.
But most of all, just like you asked of me - I need your
forgiveness.
Forgive me for my faults that seem to follow my life
Forgive me for my insecurities that have cased you hurt
and pain
I love you and I’m sorry for all the mistakes I have made
But just remember this, my heart needs your smile and
laughter
My soul needs your friendship and love
And I need you
~
So now I’ll ask you this.
I stand here before you at my lowest point in my life and
ask you one last time for your forgiveness -
For your heart and for your love - but most of all for my
Chief back, my soul mate, my best friend.
I can � ll my life just as you can with work, friends and
activities but one thing I cannot � ll is the place you have
left empty.
There is no one else I want to share my future with, our
dreams, our plans.
After 8 years you are still the one I want to see � rst thing
in the morning and the one I can’t wait to get home to at
night
I lost my way, there’s nothing I can do about the past
but what I can do is stand beside you, tell you that I am
accountable
Just like you I cannot imagine my life without you in it
So how bout that Valentines date - “Just Cause”
I know how you work, I know how you think, but just
cause I’m out of sight doesn’t mean I’m out of your
heart.
Just cause you know deep down
inside our love’s worth saving &
together we can conquer it all
