The Institute for Neuroscience The University of Texas at Austin 16th Annual Neuroscience Symposium Mission Statement Welcome to the 16th Annual Institute for Neuroscience Symposium! Every year the graduate students in the Institute for Neuroscience organize this symposium with the goal of bringing together the scientific community within and beyond our university to share research in the exciting and rich field of neuroscience. This symposium offers students a unique opportunity to present their research in a familiar setting as well as foster a cohesive and collaborative environment. Our faculty and student lectures demonstrate the quality and breadth of ongoing research at the University of Texas at Austin. Each year we also invite a keynote speaker from outside our institution to share their work with our community. This year we are honored to welcome distinguished neuroscientist Dr. Joshua Gold from the University of Pennsylvania. We hope you enjoy this year’s symposium and thank you for participating!
