SARGE
When SARGE was having tough times, he turned to God.
A famous comedian and actor, SARGE dealt with some very
tough times in life, but he overcame a lot of the hurdles in his life.
“When you have problems and situations that are just plain old
BIGGER than you, find a power greater than yourself to shrink
the problem and hang in there,” said SARGE, in an email.
SARGE brings his act to the Capital District in November,
when he will perform at the Schenectady JCC’s second annual
Robert J. Ludwig Community Service Awards Gala, at Proctors.
“I’m always excited to perform, in Schenectady or anywhere,
cause there’s nothing better than showing up somewhere and
simply by sharing yourself, people are happier for it,” he said.
“What a gift.”
SARGE has performed all over the country and abroad. He
loves performing because he loves making people happy.
“My favorite thing to do is play with my son, spend quality
private time dating my wife and making people happy,” he said.
“Not in that order because intrinsically, the making people happy
part is present in ALL three and that makes me happy.”
SARGE was born to an interracial couple in Florida, but was
raised by adopted parents on Long Island.
He ran into tough times and addicition to many things that
eventually led to him being homeless.
Amazingly, he made the decision to become clean and battled
his way to turn his life around.
“Today, my life is dedicated to helping others to overcome
these very same things and one of the greatest gifts that God gives
us is each other,” SARGE said.
SARGE loves performing in Baltimore, New York City and
Florida, but he’s no stranger to the Capital District.
SARGE did some comedy in the area, and also is good friends
with Wolf, previously of the “Wakin’ up with the Wolf ”, on PYX-
106. SARGE would come up and do the show occasionally.
“I used to spend lots of time in the Capital District,” he
said.
SARGE is very excited to perform at a function for a JCC.
“I’m a Jew and we think alike, we live alike, we are SOOOOO
alike,” he said. “We speak alike. It is the ever present best crowd
because Jews KNOW entertainment. Jews have a self-deprecating,
built-in insecurity and critical mind that makes an awesome
template for comedic wit.”
SARGE has used comedy to overcome a lot of negative things
in life and he feels like laughter is one of the best ways to be positive
in life.
It’s a wonderful honor that he will be with us in November,
sharing his unique set of skills. SARGE
is thrilled to be our guest for what
should be an incredible evening.
“I’m excited to perform for the
Schenectady JCC,” he said.
