This is a well-bred, big boned gelding<br />
that is made to work a cow. I purchased<br />
him at the Dakota 50/50 Futurity from<br />
the Medalen Ranch. He placed 4 times<br />
in the Futurity as a 2 yr old. He has been<br />
shown in several open shows where he<br />
took many first place finishes. He also<br />
competed in AQHA shows where he<br />
earned AQHA points in Western <strong>Horse</strong>manship<br />
and Trail. He was third place<br />
finisher and money earner in the Cowboy<br />
Classic RHC. We drove and trailed<br />
lots of cattle and drug many calves to<br />
the branding fire. He is quiet in the branding pen. He competed in ranch<br />
rodeo and roped cattle in competition and in open country. He is used in<br />
big rough country every day, he has the speed to run down a cow. He is<br />

This picture of Bert was taken when he<br />
was 4. Since then we have done about<br />
everything on him. We’ve used him on<br />
trail rides, sorted cattle in the pasture,<br />
ponied horses & used him for breaking<br />
other horses & general ranch work.<br />
We started him on heading last fall &<br />
he was good in the box & he runs to<br />
cattle good. Besides being a good ranch<br />
horse he is gentle enough for kids to<br />
ride & is easy to catch. He stands 15<br />
