Starters
Homemade lightly spiced butternut squash soup

Vegeterians catered for on request. A deposit of
£5 per person is required when booking.
The menu is available from Friday 26th November
to Thursday 23rd December (inclusive), but
excluding Sundays and Mondays.
Quiz night
We would also like to send a big ‘thank you’ to
all who attended the Rotary Quiz Night at the
Artichoke Inn.
A great turn out of 23 people gave us a brilliant
pool of knowledge allowing us to attain 10th place
out of 67 pubs and bars through out the south
west and France.
A great night was had by all finishing off with
delicious snacks provided by Tess.
Once again thank you to everyone and let’s look
forward to the next event in March 2011.

here was a very light agenda for this Parish
Council meeting.
The Council welcomed Penny Clapham who
will be taking over as Parish Clerk after Sue Key’s
retirement this month. Councillor Orme thanked
Sue for her sterling work over the years and wished
her a happy retirement.
He also announced that he would be standing
down as Chairman of the PC after this meeting, but
will remain on Council. The Council will appoint a
new Chair at their next meeting.
Councillors Purser (Teignbridge DC) and Brook
(Devon CC) spoke briefly to the meeting about
the comprehensive spending review as both
Councils will need to make cuts in order to meet
the government reduction in spending targets.
Teignbridge will have to cut 27%-28% from its
budget over the next four years but there is a
commitment not to raise the council tax next year.
Councillor Brook stated that it was not yet clear
where DCC cuts will fall but that the Council is
reviewing its non-statutory budgets, and it is likely
that this is where most economies will be made.
DNPA has circulated its draft Recreation and
Access Strategy for Dartmoor 2010-2017 and
Council will be commenting on the document.
The Park also requested that representatives from
the Council attend a meeting in mid November
to discuss the spending review, National Park
governance and planning with respect to the Local
Development Framework and Design Guide.
There were no planning applications and no
planning decisions.
The next meeting of the Christow Parish Council
will take place on 7th December. Proposed
Council meeting dates for 2011 are: 4th January;
1st February; 1st March; 29th March; 17th May;
7th June; 5th July; 6th September; 4th October; 1st
November; 6th December.
The Annual Parish meeting will be held on 26th
April.
Vacant Allotment. The allotment site is
situated on the Teign Valley Road, next to
the cemetery. The rent is £20 a year.
