The commencement exercises are being held in the<br />
sweltering gym to accommodate the large crowd of proud<br />
parents and family members. Doug, hot and uncomfortable<br />
in his cap and gown, is seated among his fellow graduates<br />
behind the podium. The PRINCIPAL (at the podium)<br />
announces the names of the graduates as he calls them<br />
forward to receive their diplomas.<br />
