FIRE FIGHTING TRAINING<br />
Basic Fire Fighting<br />
The ability of a worker to effectively extinguish a small fire can be the difference<br />
between a small incident and a major accident costing millions of<br />
dollars in damage and lost production time. This course is designed for<br />
workers who are potentially exposed to a firefighting situation. Training<br />
participants will learn the basic principles of fire fighting with handheld<br />
fire extinguishers and the use of Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus<br />
(SCBA). The classroom sessions cover basic fire theory, extinguisher capabilities<br />
and limitations, extinguishers operation, application techniques<br />
and recharge and basic maintenance of extinguishers. Exercises on the<br />
fire ground include using handheld extinguishers to fight various fires and<br />
escape from a smoke filled environment using SCBA.<br />
Course duration: 1 day.<br />
Workplace Fire Safety<br />
This program is designed to provide personnel<br />
who are not members of an Emergency Response<br />
Team, but who work in office, industrial,<br />
commercial, or institutional facilities with a basic<br />
understanding of fire hazards in the workplace.<br />
It includes preventative measures and appropriate<br />
responses to a fire emergency. Trainees<br />
will learn about alarm systems and the use of<br />
fire extinguishing devices to safely evacuate<br />
themselves and others from a fire situation in<br />
the workplace; practical exercises include the<br />
use of portable hand-held fire extinguishers.<br />
This course can be conducted at almost any<br />
location (such as an office car park) and can<br />
be customized to cover the customer’s facilities<br />
and equipment when conducted in-house.<br />
Course duration: half day.<br />
Advanced Fire Fighting<br />
This course is designed to train both offshore<br />
and onshore fire fighters with the knowledge<br />
and skills to safely and effectively respond<br />
to a fire. The classroom sessions cover basic<br />
fire theory, fire suppression equipment,<br />
personnel protective equipment (incl. SCBA),<br />
extinguishing agents, application of foam,<br />
water & twin agent, and fire fighting tactics.<br />
Practical exercises include fighting fire with<br />
handheld extinguishers, fire hoses (water &<br />
foam) and the use of SCBA. Fire Props<br />
include pans with & without obstacles,<br />
paint lockers, LPG impinging jet & XMAS tree. For SCBA<br />
search & rescue exercises, our state-of-the-art 3 storey<br />
smoke-house is utilized.<br />
Course duration: 3 days.<br />
MEDICAL TRAINING<br />
First Aid - Level One & Level Two<br />
These First Aid courses are designed for workers who arrive<br />
at an accident scene, and trains them how to administer<br />
immediate life support prior to the arrival of medical personnel.<br />
Training includes basic life support - covering all<br />
aspects of Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) including<br />
obstructed airways & one and two rescuer CPR. The<br />
course also includes accident scene assessment, bleeding<br />
control, and treatment of shock. The Level Two course also<br />
includes head and neck immobilization, fractures & burns,<br />
patient packaging, vital sign recording and recognition of<br />
life threatening injuries. This is performance-based training<br />
that includes an assessment of each trainee.<br />
