Don McLean’s career in the advertising broadcast production industry spanned six decades. In 1978, along with six partners, he started the
Partners Film Company and, at his death in 2005, he was president and sole owner of the company.
Don was relentless in his commitment and passion for the Canadian advertising broadcast production industry. Over the years, from his
position of considerable influence, he raised the bar of professionalism, craft and artistry to help Canada become one of the leading forces
in the world of commercial broadcast production that it is today. There are few people in the industry who don’t owe part of their success to
Don McLean or to one of his protegés.
The winner of The Don Award has been acknowledged as a contributor to one of the year’s Finalist, Gold or Craft Awards, has shown
brilliance over a period of time, is known to demonstrate professionalism and commitment in their work and in their relationships with
colleagues, and has the potential to be a future industry leader in the advertising broadcast production industry.
