"Faith for the Future - Just a note to invite everyone to join us
for an evening of Faith for the Future. On Wednesday, Sept. 5.
Come and catch up on the latest from our job seekers, as well as
our working folks, all for the discovery of Gods great gifts in our
lives.
Prayer Shawl Ministry - The ministry will meet on Thursday,
September 6, at 1:30pm in the Parish Center. We welcome you to
join with us to knit, crochet, and bond in prayer and friendship.

Food Pantry - There was an increase in families needing help so
as quickly as the shelves get stacked, they get emptied. We are in
need of peanut butter, jelly, mac & cheese, veggies, granola/snack
bars, cereals, drinks, tuna, pasta & sauce, chicken and prepared
canned foods. Your generosity is gratefully appreciated. Bring a
can/box with you to church! Help our friends

Last month we gave out all our donated items to grateful people
during our visit to Bridgeport. We need to restock the shelves for
our next visit on Sunday September 16th. We can use toothpaste,
tooth brushes, toilet tissue, shampoo, soap and shaving cream.

The Lord's Kitchen - On Wednesday September 19th St. James
volunteers will be serving dinner to the poor and homeless of

Holy Family Retreat , West Hartford, CT—The annual men’s
weekend retreat is scheduled for Oct.5-7. The theme is A Season of
Promise— The retreat begins with a buffet dinner Friday from 6 to 8

Scripture Study Classes- Sessions will begin weeks of September
14 and 24. Complete schedules available at Parish Center or on
our website. Register by Friday, September 7.
12 Keys to Spiritual Vitality- Thursday, September 27, 7:00-
9:00, seven sessions. Learn how to live agelessly and abundantly
by practicing these principles in your life! Sessions include prayer,
discussion and a dvd presentation featuring Dr. Richard Johnson.

RCIA- A program for adults wishing to come into full communion
with the Catholic Church. Call the parish center for information
if you or someone you know desires to become a member of
our church. Sessions will begin in September.
Religious Education for Children- Registration is underway!
Please contact Parish Center if you have not received information
and would like to enroll your child in our parish program. Diocesan
regulations demand that a child be enrolled for two years to be
eligible to receive sacraments.
Catechists needed for Religious Education Program- Training
provided. Please contact us at the Parish Center if you can volunteer
to share your faith with the children of our community.

� PLEASE NOTE—There will be no Fellowship and Fun on Monday,
Sept. 3.
� Confirmation at St. James will be next May, and regular Confirmation
Preparation classes will be held every other week beginning in
January. Teens who have missed 7th or 8th grade CCD, however,
will also be required to attend weekly Pre-Confirmation classes this
fall. Parents and guardians of teens who have missed 7th or 8th
grade CCD are asked to call the Parish Center to register for Pre-
Confirmation classes, which will begin in mid-September.
