Rabbi’s Message from page 2
Join us to ―boo‖ Haman and
cheer for Esther and Mordechai on
March 20. Also, think ahead to the
congregational Seder, Tuesday,
April 19 at 5:30 p.m. As usual, our
congregational seder is the 2nd
night.
―Marbim besimcha,‖ may your
―joy be increased‖ in the month of
Adar during which we celebrate Purim.
Kol tuv v‘shalom,
The IsraeLight
Congratulations to our Newest
B’nai Mitzvah!
Jan Tucker
Jan is a longtime teacher in
our religious school. She is approaching
a milestone 60 th birthday
and wanted to mark it by becoming
an adult Bat
Mitzvah.
―I wanted to do
something meaningful
and I wanted to
be an example for
my students. It is a
great way to keep up my Hebrew.
And it is an honor to read
from the Torah. The rabbi and I
have had many discussions on the
Torah portion and I have learned
a lot through the months.‖
Everyone is invited to come
and celebrate with Jan as she becomes
an adult Bat Mitzvah on
Friday, March 4, 2011. Mazel
Tov, Jan!
Noah Wren
Noah is a seventh grader at
Solon Middle School. His favorite
subjects are Social Studies
and Science. Noah loves to play
baseball and soccer. He is an
utility player which means he has
the skills to play anywhere, in
baseball and in soccer. Baseball
season starts right after the Bar
Mitzvah... that‘s great timing.
Why become a Bar Mitvah?
Noah answered, ―it‘s a tradition
in my family and I
want to keep it
going.‖
Mazel Tov to
Noach, his parents
Amy and Bob, his
brother Trevor, his
grandparents Susie
and Jerry Strom, and the rest of
his extended family. He will be
called to the Torah, Friday April
1, 2011. Everyone is invited to
come and share this simcha with
his family.
Joshua Levy
Josh is a seventh grader at
LaMuth Middle School in Painesville
Township. His favorite subjects
are math and
science… lunch
too. He plays saxophone
in the
school band. For
the past two years,
he has played
Hatikvah with his
classmates, at the
conclusion of religious school
each week.
Joshua is looking forward to
reading from the Torah and sharing
this joyous occasion with
family and friends.
Mazel Tov to Yehoshua and
his parents, Ann and Jordan, and
his brothers Noah and Zachary.
The congregation is invited to
join the celebration at services,
