In 2011, <strong>IPPF</strong> EN was a member of the ‘European Year of Volunteering<br />

2011 Alliance’, an open, informal and growing group of European networks<br />

active in volunteering and which used EYV 2011 to say:<br />

“THANK YOU”: Celebrating and recognising the efforts and contribution<br />

of volunteers throughout Europe.<br />

In 2011, former YSAFE chair person and long­time active member<br />

Daniel Kalajdjieski (from the Member Association of the Republic of<br />

Macedonia) won the <strong>IPPF</strong> Youth Award for his outstanding work.<br />

volunteers are central to iPPF and to our<br />

future. We believe volunteers are essential<br />

to any NGo or civil society group as it is<br />

often the only way to raise the voice of<br />

the public and to ensure that NGos are<br />

formulating the needs of society and not<br />

just their own needs as organisations.”<br />
