In creating patterns for the collection,
Lycke started crafting a story about
romantic journeys and sentimental
greetings through a collage of words
and images. She drew inspiration from
sensations and places real or imagined:
looking at old postcards, bookmarks,
stamps, clothing and fashion;
summoning the smell of pastries and
perfume; and envisioning romantic
destinations like the Eiffel Tower that
are fixtures in film. “Basically inspiration
came from everything that brings
you to a certain time and place,” Lycke
says. “It could be a look, a smell or a
place. I tried to create a little world
around this.”
