Conclusion<br />

The <strong>in</strong>fluence of <strong>genetic</strong>s <strong>in</strong> medic<strong>in</strong>e is grow<strong>in</strong>g <strong>and</strong> will cont<strong>in</strong>ue to grow. While it<br />

carries with it much promise for improv<strong>in</strong>g the prevention <strong>and</strong> treatment of diseases,<br />

there are potential obstacles <strong>and</strong> repercussions that may hamper this vision. Some of<br />

these <strong>issues</strong> have been highlighted <strong>in</strong> this paper. We have a unique opportunity to<br />

recommend ways of safeguard<strong>in</strong>g ourselves before a negative <strong>in</strong>cident happens, <strong>and</strong> we<br />

should seize this chance. After all, prevention is the best cure.
