Guidelines for contributors<br />
The Journal of Mental Health Training, Education and Practice addresses workforce development issues in mental health services.<br />
Workforce development is defined broadly to include not only workforce planning and human resource management but<br />
also education and training for mental health practice.<br />
The Journal of Mental Health Training, Education and Practice provides a high quality source of information for managers,<br />
practitioners, academics and trainers on every aspect of workforce development in mental health services. It focuses<br />
primarily on services in the UK but also draws upon international experience, reflecting the common challenges of<br />
workforce development and recognising the scope for international learning and development.<br />
Types of articles invited<br />
The Journal of Mental Health Training, Education and Practice<br />
welcomes the submission of papers from managers,<br />
researchers and practitioners.<br />
Submissions for peer review should be 3,500–4,000 words<br />
in length (excluding references) and will be considered in<br />
the following areas:<br />
l overviews of research which aim to present the<br />
practical implications for workforce development in<br />
mental health services<br />
l descriptions of important innovations in workforce<br />
development, including education and training<br />
l reports of original research<br />
l summaries of useful information on relevant and<br />
topical issues in workforce development.<br />
The Journal also features:<br />
l editorials (500–1,000 words)<br />
l dialogue articles (1–2,000 words)<br />
l international perspectives (1–2,000 words)<br />
l resource reviews (reviews of books, reports and<br />
other resources) (500–1,000 words per review).<br />
