n November 5, 2010, Bro<strong>the</strong>r Thomas Dominic Vance conducted <strong>the</strong> drawing for <strong>the</strong> annual <strong>Christian</strong> <strong>Bro<strong>the</strong>rs</strong><br />
Benefit Raffle at <strong>the</strong> Provincial Office, Burr Ridge, Illinois. Seventeen winners were chosen and a total <strong>of</strong> $19,500<br />
was awarded. Congratulations to <strong>the</strong> winners, and a special thanks to all those who bought and sold <strong>the</strong> tickets.<br />

n For <strong>the</strong> second year, Development Officers from schools<br />
throughout <strong>the</strong> <strong>Midwest</strong> District met on November 8, 2010,<br />
at Cretin-Derham Hall High School, St. Paul, MN to share<br />
information and “Best Practices,” so that all could learn from<br />
each o<strong>the</strong>r. Participants from twelve schools and <strong>the</strong> Provincial<br />
Office discussed <strong>the</strong>ir experiences with Annual Giving, Capital<br />
Campaigns, and Planned Giving. This will be an annual event.<br />

n The Hue<strong>the</strong>r Lasallian Conference was held November 18 through 20, 2010, in<br />
Cincinnati, Ohio. The District Lasallian Educator Awards were presented to seven<br />
educators from <strong>the</strong> U.S./Toronto Region. The <strong>Midwest</strong> District had two members<br />
receiving <strong>the</strong> award: Judith McMaster, Bishop Kelley High School, Tulsa, OK,<br />
and Kurt Schackmuth, Lewis University, Romeoville, IL. Judith is <strong>the</strong> Academic<br />
Dean at Bishop Kelley and attended <strong>the</strong> Lasallian Leadership Institute. She is<br />
an integral part <strong>of</strong> keeping <strong>the</strong> Lasallian spirit alive on campus. Kurt, a former<br />
member <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Midwest</strong> District Mission and Ministry Council, is <strong>the</strong> Associate<br />
Vice-President for Mission and Director <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> First Year Experience on campus.<br />
